Application Process

When are your application deadlines?

We have three application dates each year: March 1, July 1 and November 1. Complete applications must be received at our Toronto office no later than 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date. If the deadline date happens to fall on a statutory holiday or weekend, applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. the next business day.

Do you accept late applications?

No. Late applications will be declined. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure applications are received at our Toronto location by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.

How do you determine the merits of an application?

We review all applications against all assessment criteria. We may also make reference and research calls and, where necessary, conduct a site visit. For a detailed description of the application review process, please refer to our Program Guidelines.

Does every applicant receive a site visit?

No.  We do require a site visit with applicants when:
  • Considering a Community grant recommendation greater than $100,000;
  • Considering a Province-Wide grant recommendation greater than $500,000;
  • The proposal assessment requires the review of the location/premises of the applicant; or
  • Grant Review Team has established other criteria.

Who takes part in the site visit?

Site visits are conducted by OTF staff and, wherever possible, a Grant Review Team member.
