Afro-Canadian Caribbean Association of Hamilton & District
$153,000 over three years for equipment, administration and program costs to develop peer-led programs. These will help engage 1,000 afro-Canadian youth aged 13 to 18 in positive activities, helping to build self-esteem and leadership skills.

Air Cadet League of Canada #779 Black Knight Squadron
$19,900 over six months to purchase musical instruments and computer equipment, helping outfit this youth marching band in Mount Hope. Musical skills will improve and high-tech, interactive training modules will be developed for their peers.

CANUSA Games
$105,000 over two years for program costs, equipment and supplies to increase volunteerism and alumni involvement. This will support the 50th anniversary of these international athletic games in Hamilton in 2007 and help make them sustainable.

Catholic Family Services of Hamilton-Wentworth
$75,000 over one year to renovate the kitchen and provide safer equipment at St. Martin's Manor. Pregnant teens will then be able to participate more fully in community nutrition programs that improve their health.

Coallition afro-francophone de Hamilton a/s Association des Tchadiens de l'Ontario
$35,500 over one year to offer 10 weeks of summer sports and semi-weekly evening activities during the rest of the year. Francophone African youth at risk in Hamilton will then have greater opportunities to experience positive personal growth. 

Ethiopian Association of Hamilton
$2,500 over one year for equipment, transportation and training materials in Ethiopian languages, which will help immigrants engage in recreational and educational programming on the Hamilton mountain.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder Task Force c/o Rygiel Supports for Community Living
$136,000 over two years to establish a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder diagnostic clinic in Hamilton. This program will help to promote education and awareness in the community about the need for early diagnosis.

Hamilton Junior Football Club Inc.
$14,700 over one year to purchase equipment that will enable youth aged 15 to 18 from low-income families to participate in recreational activities and safely learn to play football.

Leander Boat Club of Hamilton
$30,000 over one year to purchase a competitive rowing boat and a boat trailer. This equipment will help promote leisure and physical activities for high school and university students and other rowing club members.
 
Mission Services of Hamilton Inc.
$75,000 over one year to renovate the basement of the Jamesville Residence. This will help create a more accessible space for programs and meetings, so community members can better help homeless men in downtown Hamilton reach their full potential.

North Hamilton Community Health Centre
$131,800 over 30 months to hire a community collaborator who will develop partnerships and promote the programs of the centre. This initiative will help improve the health and well-being of this diverse community.

Peer Specialists Job Development Group c/o Mental Health Rights Coalition of Hamilton
$20,000 over one year to pilot a project in which people with mental health disabilities are trained to work in local health organizations. The stigma of hiring these workers will be reduced and employment opportunities created.

Planned Parenthood Society of Hamilton
$10,000 over one year for furniture and supplies to equip an educational classroom. The space will be used by youth and other community groups to promote healthy lifestyles in Hamilton.

Woodview Children's Centre - Hamilton
$200,400 over three years for program costs to help provide work opportunities for people with serious mental health disabilities. Staff will help foster employment skills, encouraging clients' self-sufficiency, self-esteem and earning potential.

Youth Serving Agencies Network Grow Program c/o Settlement and Integration Services Organization
$144,900 over two years for equipment and program costs to help integrate low-income, new-comer children and youth into sport and recreational programs. This will increase their access to physical activity in Hamilton.

Affordable Housing Flagship c/o Social Planning & Research Council of Hamilton
$135,000 over two years to facilitate a community approach in supporting people moving from shelters to affordable home ownership as part of a catalyst for economic growth and neighbourhood revitalization in Hamilton.

Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton
$70,000 over one year toward a barrier-free ramp to improve accessibility to the building, which is used by parents with strollers and people with physical disabilities.

The Community Adolescent Network of Hamilton
$153,000 over four years to re-establish a support service for parents and adolescents aged 12 to16 years who are experiencing conflict. The goal is to reduce the number of teens with mental health disabilities admitted into residential care.

Dundas Arts & Craft Community Foundation
$75,000 over one year toward renovations to make the Carnegie Gallery safer. The gallery promotes local arts and crafts to 10,000 visitors each year in Dundas.

The Elizabeth Fry Society Hamilton Branch
$147,200 over two years to develop and implement a new train-the-trainer program for volunteers, and to strengthen the organization’s capacity to manage volunteer services in order to improve quality of service for clients.

Equestrian Association for the Disabled
$116,000 over two years to improve the administrative and fundraising capacity of the organization by hiring a full-time instructor and training volunteers in the Raising More Money fundraising model.

Hamilton Angling and Hunting
$70,700 over nine months toward renovations to the facility, which will make it more accessible to all 500 members, including seniors and people with physical disabilities.

The Hamilton Follies Inc.
$39,100 over one year to support the introduction of a marketing and alumni program supporting the Geritol Follies and to keep the event affordable for 12,000 audience members.

Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra
$26,200 over one year to increase the fundraising capacity of the organization and provide coaching for promising string players.

Hamilton Wentworth Aquatic Club
$34,500 over one year toward the purchase of an electronic timing system. This will enhance the capacity of the club to host swim meets and contribute to its sustainability.

Imperial Cotton Centre for the Arts
$75,000 over one year to support an artist brown- field redevelopment project in Hamilton. Staff and experienced artists will mentor new artists and provide affordable studio space for recent art graduates and collaborative arts projects.

Interval House of Hamilton-Wentworth
$92,800 over two years to implement the Stages of Change training model for shelter staff, volunteers and community agencies. The organization's volunteer program will expand while a learning environment that improves volunteers’ skills is created.

St. John's Senior Club #1154 c/o United Senior Citizens of Ontario
$2,000 over six months to purchase equipment and furniture that will improve the safety and comfort of a seniors activity room at a local recreational facility in Hamilton.

The YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington
$31,500 for the purchase of a passenger van to enable Hamilton children and their families to participate in skill-building programs locally and at Camp Wanakita in Haliburton.

Welcome Inn Community Centre
$50,000 over one year to increase donations from corporate partners, churches, service clubs  and individuals, which will ensure the centre’s long-term ability to provide programs to seniors and low-income residents of Hamilton's north end.

Workers Arts and Heritage Centre Inc.
$44,700 over one year to restore the classroom and workshop facilities of this heritage space in Hamilton, increasing its use by the community and providing space for low-income, refugee, immigrant and aboriginal youth groups.

$8,000 over six months to engage volunteers, members and community artists and arts organizations in a public mandate review for Arts Hamilton.

Bruce Trail Association c/o Hamilton Conservation Authority
$74,600 over one year to improve accessibility and visitor amenities at Felker's Falls, Chedoke Falls and the Hermitage Cascade, which provide recreational activities for people of all ages.

Child Connect c/o St. Leonard's Society of Hamilton
$207,700 over three years to provide computer training and support to children in the care of Children's Aid Societies and youth at risk.

Enabling Institutional Change through Community Partnership c/o Settlement and Integration Services Organization
$225,000 over three years to facilitate institutional and community partnerships in key sectors of employment, housing and health care in Hamilton.

Hamilton-Wentworth Green Venture
$30,000 over one year to establish an energy providers network focusing on promoting and raising awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy products, which will help address the urgent problems of global climate change and urban smog.

North End Breezes c/o North Hamilton Community Health Centre
$37,900 over one year to modernize and sustain a community newspaper that brings together 4,000 residents in a low-income neighbourhood in Hamilton's north end.

The Optimist Club of Strabane
$50,000 over one year to install a paved pathway around a neighbourhood park that will give rural Flamborough community members a safer place to walk, cycle and rollerblade.

St. Mark's Co-operative Preschool c/o Today's Family-Caring For Your Child
$28,000 over one year to identify childcare needs in Dundas and restructure early childhood services to avoid duplication and improve quality.

Stoney Creek United Church
$34,800 over one year for renovations and upgrades that will enable safer and more comfortable use of the premises by community groups in Stoney Creek.
