Cobalt Mining Museum
$27,000 over one year to develop a comprehensive strategic business plan, which will guide the museum's future and success as a heritage-promoting institution and contribute to the Cobalt economy.

Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing
$40,000 over one year to provide public outreach, education and credit counselling services to students. Funding will equip low-income individuals in the North Bay area with the information and skills to successfully manage their personal finances.

The Corporation of the Municipality of Charlton and Dack
$32,600 over one year to repair the municipality's outdoor skating rink/skateboard park, making it an accessible, safer and more useful recreational facility for all local citizens.

The Corporation of the Municipality of West Nipissing
$40,000 over two years to help build the capacity of the Youth Advisory Committee through volunteer recruitment and training initiatives and the delivery of youth-driven activities.

Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge
$14,100 over six months to undertake a proactive, regionally based and co-ordinated promotion of the May 2006 Festival of the Falls event, which will enhance its viability, attract participants and increase tourism to support the local economy.

Corporation of the Township of Bonfield
$12,900 over six months to renovate and purchase new furnishings for the Bonfield Public Library, contributing to a more accessible, safer and user-friendly leisure and learning environment for all patrons.

Corporation of the Township of East Ferris
$43,700 over six months to purchase and install modern equipment in the new Astorville playground, which will improve its safety while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for families in East Ferris.

The Corporation of the Township of Seguin
$27,000 over one year to purchase shelving, computer furniture and fixtures for the Rosseau Library, which will reduce barriers to participation so that more patrons can benefit from a modern and practical library facility.

Corporation of the Village of Sundridge
$12,700 over one year to make aesthetic improvements to the Children's Corner of the library and increase multimedia collections and equipment. This will encourage literacy and contribute to a more pleasant and stimulating learning environment.

Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka
$50,000 over one year to develop and implement a volunteer services program. Funding will also strengthen partnerships that will explore the sharing of a volunteer resource pool to increase the effectiveness of family, youth and child services.

Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve Incorporated
$30,000 over one year to help build the organization's capacity, which will improve its community outreach and consultations with key stakeholders. This will help develop long-term plans for sharing responsibility to conserve the biosphere reserve.

Habitat for Humanity Muskoka
$44,900 over one year to recruit and train volunteers and offset the start-up costs of a ReStore retail outlet, which will help meet the local residents’ needs for affordable housing in the district.

Hospice Muskoka
$60,000 over three years to carry out a comprehensive capacity-building plan for recruiting and training more volunteers and reducing the hospice’s dependence on provincial funding, while increasing its use and addressing emerging client needs.

Huntsville Ontario Chapter SPEBSQSA Inc.
$10,400 over one year to conduct community outreach, undertake a volunteer recruitment and training initiative and purchase music pieces and uniforms. Funding will enable the organization's barbershop choir to continue performing at community events.

Lake Joseph Yacht Club
$64,200 over one year to adapt and implement the current Canadian Yachting Association's Basic Sailing Skills program, enabling the club to attract more Muskoka youth, children and people who are blind or deaf/blind.

Laurentian Ski Hill Snowboarding Club
$21,200 over one year to recruit, maintain and train the base of volunteers required to ensure the club's success and longevity, enabling it to provide a safer and fun environment for healthy outdoor winter activity in North Bay.

Mattawa Community Library Board c/o Corporation of the Town of Mattawa
$75,000 over nine months to renovate the space that will house the John Dixon Library, making the facility fully accessible and providing more modern and expanded library services to the entire community.

Muskoka Steam and Classic Yachts
$30,000 over one year to complete the steel repair and dry-dock inspection work and relaunch the Wanda III, a local historical vessel that will serve as a tourist attraction and contribute to the local economy.

Nipissing First Nation
$32,400 over one year to design and implement a unique learning project to preserve, promote and teach Ojibwe language, history and culture to the First Nation's youth and adults.

The Renewable Energy Co-operative North Inc.
$30,900 over one year to complete a business plan, environmental assessment and offering statement for membership shares in a co-operative wind-generating farm in Temagami, improving the organization's capacity to promote and sustain a green environment.

Rotary Club of Parry Sound
$22,500 over one year to purchase a dragon boat and trailer so that spring and fall youth programs can be implemented, encouraging more youth, at-risk youth and youth with disabilities to participate in this healthy outdoor activity.

Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 405
$72,800 over one year to renovate the legion hall in Burk’s Falls, making it a safer, fully accessible, multipurpose community space for club’s members and the community at large.

Temiskaming Art Gallery/ Galerie d'art du Temiskaming
$35,800 over one year to establish and deliver ARTREACH, an arts education program targeted to youth, seniors, people with disabilities, Francophone and First Nations communities, helping to increase and sustain participation in the arts locally.

Temiskaming Métis Community Council c/o Métis Nation of Ontario Secretariat
$64,200 over two years to develop and deliver a bilingual cultural education and outreach program to local students, which will promote and increase knowledge and awareness of the local Aboriginal culture.

Town of Parry Sound
$5,500 over one year to acquire DVDs and audio books in order to better serve the public library's senior and special-needs patrons.

2006 Ontario Winter Paralympics Championship Games c/o The Town of Huntsville
$50,300 over one year to help host the 2006 Winter Paralympics Championship Games in Huntsville, where 300 athletes with disabilities from across the province will participate in a variety of sport championships.

Centre culturel La Mine d'Art
$20,000 over one year to build the centre’s capacity to grow and serve the Francophone community in the Kirkland Lake area by consulting with Francophone and Aboriginal partners to develop, market and implement an updated and relevant strategic plan.

City of Temiskaming Shores
$6,700 over six months to purchase more resource materials, create an interactive website and establish and deliver an outreach program to rural areas within the municipality, making library services more accessible to all members of the community.

The Corporation of the Township of Georgian Bay
$12,800 over six months to develop a library collection that includes two collections of juvenile books on tapes or CDs and music CDs for young children, benefiting the township residents as well as the neighbouring Aboriginal community.

Gateway Theatre Guild
$20,000 to support the theatre's capacity to attract more volunteers and increase its core audience in North Bay by mounting a unique theatrical adaptation of William Shakespeare's Henry V.

Henvey Inlet First Nation
$7,700 to purchase Aboriginal cultural reading and reference materials, stereo equipment for CD ROMS and shelving, which will enhance the library's capacity to serve its community's educational, leisure and learning needs.

LIPI - Low Income People Involvement of Nipissing
$75,000 over one year for office renovations, which will make the North Bay facilities completely accessible, allow volunteers to more effectively contribute their time and serve clients in a more appropriate setting.

Municipality of Powassan
$32,500 over one year to carry out renovations to the library and its meeting space, making it a more accessible and available site for all local citizens and user groups.

Near North Palliative Care Network
$30,000 over one year to build the organization’s capacity and effectiveness by developing, promoting and delivering education programs, volunteer management and training systems in the North Bay-Parry Sound East area.

Town of Gravenhurst
$20,000 over one year to purchase software and peripherals needed to complete the Gravenhurst Library Automation System upgrade resulting in resources being more accessible to all patrons.

Town of Huntsville
$8,600 over one year to increase accessibility to the town’s library by installing an automatic door opener for the inside entrance, purchasing software, library materials and an adjustable computer desk.

Township of McKellar
$12,200 over one year to improve the library’s accessibility, purchase equipment and materials, and develop a book club and an early years reading program, enabling greater access and use of the library by all members of the community.

Township of South Algonquin
$37,400 over one year for improvements to the Madawaska outdoor rink, making this community asset safer and more useful for residents participating in a wide variety of sports, recreational and social events.

Township of South Algonquin
$24,900 over one year to carry out accessibility improvements and heating system renovations to the Whitney Library, allowing greater ease of access and providing a more comfortable environment for all patrons.

Voyageur Multi Use Trail System
$25,000 over one year to help build the organization's capacity by developing its ability to manage day-to-day operations and market its multi-use trail system, which will increase use and positively contribute to the Mattawa area economy.

Algonquin Child and Family Services
$17,100 over 10 months to support a one-day Family Fair for families in the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound to improve parenting capacity through education workshops, activities and resource sharing.

Canadian Red Cross, North Bay Branch c/o Canadian Red Cross Ontario Zone
$26,000 over one year to support the rebuilding of the North Bay Branch's disaster services response capabilities, including the recruitment and training of volunteers and the expansion of service provision to 12 more small communities in the area.

Classic Theatre Cobalt
$25,000 over one year towards the theatre's strategic and capital plan initiative, which includes redecorating the lobby and mezzanine to recreate the historic look of the building located in Cobalt Historic Camp National Historic District.

Friends of the Mattawa Curling Club
$51,300 over six months to install a new roof, new ceiling and new lighting in the clubhouse, allowing the club to continue offering the sport of curling to all community members.

The Gathering Place: North Bay's Community Soup Kitchen
$53,400 over one year to carry out facility renovations, making it a safer and healthier environment for patrons and staff, purchase a walk-in freezer and develop effective volunteer teams to operate the kitchen.

Harvest Share Community Food Programs
$22,500 over one year to expand the Parry Sound food program to East Parry Sound communities by securing warehouse space in South River and distributing food to needy individuals in remote locations of the district.

Kirkland Lake Curling Club
$24,000 to replace the condenser unit of the ice making plant, enabling the curling club to continue offering a community-based recreational opportunity in the town of Kirkland Lake.

Muskoka Concert Band
$23,700 over one year to purchase percussion instruments, a public address system and commissioned and sheet music for the Band to broaden its membership, celebrate its heritage and make a significant contribution throughout the Muskoka community.

Muskoka Parry Sound Kids and Family Resource Connection Inc.
$9,000 over one year to research, publish and distribute Parent Pages, a comprehensive resource guide of support services available to families throughout the districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound.

North Bay Astronomy Club
$29,800 over six months to purchase a 16-inch, portable compact telescope and presentation equipment that will assist the area's only astronomy club to continue to offer and expand in its regional education and public outreach efforts.

People for Equal Partnership in Mental Health
$7,600 over one year to deliver a unique and supportive craft program for its Family Program membership that will promote awareness and social acceptance of people living with mental illness amongst the general public in the North Bay area.

Phelps & District Golden Age Club
$4,000 over one year to purchase and install a new window, hot water tank and ventilation system so the Club can continue to be an accessible community meeting place for all residents in Phelps Township.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33, New Liskeard
$30,000 to purchase bag pipes, drums and uniforms for the growing membership of the pipe band, which serves veterans, ex-service personnel, their dependents and the community at large.

Sail Parry Sound Inc.
$46,000 to make improvements to boat-enclosure and sand beach dolly-ramp areas and to purchase new sailboats for a growing sail club predominantly serving permanent local residents of Parry Sound.

United 50 Seniors Club
$25,000 over six months for renovations to the club's hall, so that it may continue to be used as a place where seniors and all members of the small community of Cache Bay can meet to socialize and carry out valuable community service activities.

YMCA of North Bay
$75,000 over six months to purchase fitness and conditioning equipment specially modified to serve and meet the needs of area youth and improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
