Addiction Services of Brant Inc.
$5,000 over eight months to develop a lending library of resources that will provide information and support to families and children experiencing addiction, mental health and behavioural challenges.

Bird Studies Canada
$42,000 over six months to renovate and improve the Old Cut facility at the Long Point Bird Observatory, which will provide better amenities for visitors and support for volunteers who are monitoring populations of migrating birds on an ongoing basis.

Burford District Optimist Club
$50,000 over one year to purchase and install splash pad equipment in the park, which will increase affordable recreation opportunities for children and youth in Burford and the surrounding rural communities.

Community Resource & Employment Service (Brantford)
$78,000 over 18 months to conduct a strategic review of the agency’s operations, which will help increase its capacity to conduct outreach, raise funds and recruit volunteers in order to better meet the growing needs of low-income families.

The Friends of Myrtleville House
$23,300 over two years to help build the capacity necessary for the museum to expand its school and camp programs so that larger numbers of children will have access to quality heritage education in Brantford.

Grand Valley Educational Society
$80,600 over two years to encourage and support partnerships between business, municipal, community and educational institutions in Brantford in order to facilitate the development of innovative training and educational opportunities.

Haldimand Community Support Centre
$50,200 over one year to purchase equipment, provide instruction and upgrade the recreation centre, providing seniors and people with disabilities in Haldimand County with activities, exercise and leisure programs to improve wellness and independence.

Haldimand Grand River Rowing Club Inc.
$25,500 over one year to conduct a feasibility study that will analyze potential sites for the club’s permanent location and help determine its suitability for program development and growth, enabling this rowing club to develop.

Kidsport Brantford c/o Sport Alliance of Ontario
$55,800 over 33 months to obtain office space, equipment and supplies to assist with the costs of registration so that more children and youth can participate in organized sport and recreation activities.

Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nations
$23,300 over one year to provide this First Nations library with updated technology in order to enhance current services and programs, encouraging lifelong learning and literacy for those living in the reserve of New Credit.

The Norfolk Association for Community Living
$27,800 over one year to create and equip a multisensory room in Simcoe, which will help enhance the lives of people with sensory, cognitive and physical disabilities.

Paris Soccer Club
$6,400 over one year to purchase updated equipment, which will maintain opportunities for children to participate in high-quality recreational soccer.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29
$8,500 over one year to install energy-efficient windows and make improvements to this well-used legion community facility in Paris.

Simcoe Lions Club Inc.
$13,700 to purchase safer, modern risers that will be shared by a range of local musical and theatrical groups in Simcoe.

Suicide Prevention Task Force of Haldimand Norfolk c/o Haldimand-Norfolk R.E.A.C.H.
$20,500 over one year to hire four trainers in the ASIST model of suicide intervention. They will provide 75 or more high-school-student leaders with the skills to recognize peers who may be at risk of suicide and intervene with adult assistance.

$41,900 over one year to support a centrally managed database of up-to-date information about services and organizations that are available in Brantford and Brant County, via telephone, drop-in visits, Internet, directories and publications.

Brant Heritage Partners c/o Brant Historical Society
$65,000 over six months to assist a collaborative of local museums and heritage groups to develop a detailed feasibility plan for the establishment of a new shared museum and heritage centre for Brantford and Brant County.

Brant Historical Society
$35,500 over 18 months to complete an electronic database of artefact and archival materials, which will allow staff and volunteers more time to assist local researchers and identify appropriate materials for the museum’s exhibits and school programs.

The Brantford YMCA-YWCA
$46,100 over one year to purchase equipment and provide expertise, improving access to safe physical fitness programs for community members who are recovering from illness or injury, have a chronic illness or need support to become more active.

Child Nutrition Network of Haldimand & Norfolk c/o Haldimand-Norfolk Resource Education and Counselling Help
$32,300 over one year to hire a community facilitator assistant who will increase community commitment and involvement in student nutrition programs in Haldimand and Norfolk, ensuring program sustainability and provision of more healthful foods.

Community Access Support Services (Norfolk)
$26,300 over one year to purchase equipment and support program costs of implementing both a primary and a mobile virtual technology unit, allowing people with disabilities to experience movement and become more active and engaged in the community.

DREAM c/o Rotary Club of Dunnville
$69,900 over two years to develop a mentoring program that will provide high school students with role models and improved opportunities, allowing them to participate in post-secondary education.

Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant
$48,000 over one year to redesign and expand the art rental program, which will generate sustaining revenue for gallery programs and enhance artwork sales and rental opportunities for local and regional artists in Brantford and area.

Jarvis Lions Club
$60,000 over six months to renovate the kitchen and alter the front entrance of the community hall, which will improve its accessibility and ensure a safer and healthier facility.

Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation (LPWBRF)
$15,300 over six months to purchase materials and cover costs of a conference to be held in April 2006, which will engage local citizens, community groups and businesses in planning for an environmentally sustainable Norfolk County.

The Lower Grand River Land Trust Foundation Inc.
$55,400 over one year to hire a nature interpreter/planner to develop and implement educational, ecologically sensitive programs for areas of Ruthven Park, which will increase environmental awareness, volunteer participation and community engagement.

St. George Lions Club
$26,000 over one year to purchase and install accessible play equipment in a new multi-use playground, which will increase recreational opportunities for children and young families in the growing community of St.George.

Selkirk Centennial Community Hall Corporation
$26,000 over 10 months to replace the original 1917 slate roof of this well used community hall with a new metal one, ensuring the preservation and integrity of this designated heritage building.

Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, Indian Reserve No. 40 - Arts and Culture Committee
$11,500 over one year to develop a new First Nations youth choir, which will increase opportunities for musical education for children and youth at Six Nations.

Woodland Cultural Centre
$34,100 to purchase furniture and equipment that will increase students’ access to this Brantford library and its rare book collection, key academics’ research papers and wide range of materials of interest to researchers and Native Studies students.

$18,400 over one year to repair the roof of this key community facility.

Briers Basketball Club
$8,300 over six months to enhance recreational basketball opportunities for youth in Brantford by providing portable score clocks and safety equipment.

Burford District Optimist Club
$23,000 to increase opportunities for healthy and safe physical activity for rural children and youth by creating of a skateboard park on the grounds of the Burford Community Centre.

Caledonia Skating Club
$16,900 over one year to purchase equipment, which will enhance opportunities for adults and children to access safe high-quality skating instruction in the Caledonia area.

Early Years Partners c/o Children's Aid Society of Brant
$93,000 over three years to expand an interactive infant program called Patta Cake and develop an early child-development and parenting centre called Launch Pad, which will enhance school readiness among children in a high-need area of Brantford.

Hamilton Place Conservatory - Friends of Paris Culture
$11,000 over six months to purchase a sound system, which will amplify the voices of the actors, enhancing outdoor theatre productions at the Cobblestone Festival and other local events.

Haldimand Art Works
$16,100 over six months to renovate the donated teaching and office space formerly used by Art Works in Cayuga, which will enhance opportunities for arts and crafts instruction in Haldimand county.

The Haldimand Choralairs Inc.
$11,200 over six months to assist the choir in accessing new audiences by purchasing portable risers and a podium that will allow the Choralairs to perform in a wide range of locations in the community.

Haldimand-Norfolk Literacy Council
$22,000 over one year to enhance computer-based learning opportunities for adult students of literacy and English as a Second Language in the Dunnville and Simcoe areas.

Just 4 Moms and Kids Co-operative Corporation
$12,000 over one year towards renovating the kitchen in this rural child care centre in Scotland, Ontario.

Kanata Native Cultural Society
$21,600 over one year to expand learning opportunities for students and adult audiences through the creation of a website and educational videos promoting native culture in the Brantford area.

Lynn Valley Trail Association
$61,000 over one year to help repair a bridge on the Lynn Valley Trail System, which links Simcoe and Port Dover and provides healthy recreation opportunities to thousands of residents and visitors every year.

Paris Curling Club
$65,000 to enhance access to affordable recreational opportunities through the installation of new ice-plant equipment that will improve the ice surface at this well-used curling rink.

Protecting Backus Woods c/o Long Point Foundation for Conservation
$50,900 over one year to maintain and conserve Backus Woods in order to protect biodiversity and build environmental awareness of this important parcel of Carolinian forest near Port Rowan.

Simcoe and District Youth Soccer Club Inc.
$67,300 over one year to enhance opportunities for rural youth to participate in soccer through the provision of soccer goals, fencing, bleachers and shade pavilions at the new soccer park in Simcoe.

Simcoe Christmas Panorama Inc.
$18,500 over one year to strengthen the economic health of the community by building the capacity of local festivals.

Six Nations Council
$54,000 over two years to preserve the largest Carolinian forest in Canada, located at Six Nations, through a community-based forest stewardship program, which will help restore the red oak populations.
