Association pour l'intégration sociale d'Ottawa
$34,000 over two years to establish a visual arts program for Francophone people with developmental disabilities. The program will provide support to their families and help increase public awareness of these individuals and their capabilities.

$20,000 over one year to provide equipment and recruit staff that will enable the organization’s food bank and second-hand store to have better access to their clients and become more sustainable.

$54,900 over two years to promote and operate a new exhibition space in Ottawa, which will increase opportunities for local artists to showcase their work and help educate the public about franco-Ontarian visual artists.

$30,800 over one year to purchase software and provide training to staff, which will enable services to be automated in the five branches of the public library and provide the community with greater access to its resources and information.

$11,200 to purchase a microfilm reader for the public library, which will enable staff to build a local history database and allow residents greater access to information for genealogical research.

$27,000 over 10 months to renovate and improve the public library, making the entrance fully accessible and the facility safer, so that it can continue to provide an important information resource for the community.

Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre
$13,600 over one year to develop and deliver a comprehensive communication plan that emphasizes drug and alcohol awareness and prevention, community education and access to specific treatment for youth aged 13 to 18 years in the greater Ottawa area.

Debra Dynes Family House
$139,000 over three years to expand the Chances and Choices program, which will provide opportunities for multicultural youth from low-income families in Ottawa to experience positive personal growth.

Dundas County Hospice
$60,200 over two years to increase the organization's capacity to provide volunteer support to palliative clients and to enhance programs such as the day hospice and caregiver and bereavement support groups.

East Ottawa Generals Football Club
$37,700 over one year to purchase materials and equipment for a new flag program and the existing tackle program, which will improve the quality and safety of the activity and provide more youth with access to recreational football.

$25,000 over six months to develop a comprehensive long-term funding development strategy. Funds raised will allow the centre to develop new, innovative programs and services for children.

$70,200 over three years to meet increasing demands for community-based hospice care for people with life-threatening illnesses across the western, urban and rural Ottawa region and to further enhance support services provided to their caregivers.

Gloucester Lacrosse Association
$48,000 over one year to purchase equipment that meets new safety standards, so that the organization can continue to effectively offer safe and healthy recreation to youth.

Goulbourn Basketball Association
$45,000 over one year to build the capacity of the organization by improving the skills of volunteer coaches and enhancing its programs to provide more opportunities for children and youth interested in playing basketball.

GREENPRINT
$14,100 to help host the third Ottawa Eco-Stewardship Fair. Funding will provide promotion, shuttle-bus rental, room set-ups and the services of a project co-ordinator. The fair will feature information about healthy environmental practices.

Groupe Renaissance Group
$25,000 over nine months to establish a permanent office and office management systems, so the group can more effectively deliver and manage community revitalization projects in the City of Cornwall.

Habitat for Humanity, National Capital Region
$36,000 over one year to develop the organization’s capacity by hiring a co-ordinator to manage over 600 volunteers who will work on building projects, assist with the operation of the ReStore, work in the office and help with special events.

Harvest House Ministries of Ottawa-Carleton
$50,000 over one year to purchase a reliable printing press that will provide commercial printing training for 12 to18 residents a year who are battling addiction. The skills acquired will provide employment opportunities for the participants.

Kanata Food Cupboard
$69,800 over three years to promote volunteerism and hire a co-ordinator who will help enhance the skills and knowledge of volunteers, enabling this emergency food service to continue to help those in need in the community.

Lions Gateway Club Collaborative c/o Cumberland Lions Club
$54,300 over one year to purchase software, training and equipment that will support volunteers management in five Ottawa-region communities and raise funds through membership discount on-line shopping.

Macnamara Field Naturalist Club
$41,800 over four years to implement a marketing and communication plan that will help increase membership, especially among youth, build the volunteer base and support the renewal of this Eastern Ontario environmentalist club.

Makonsag Aboriginal Head Start
$72,000 over two years to support the implementation of a program that will teach urban Aboriginal preschoolers and their parents in the Ottawa area the Cree language and different Aboriginal cultures.

Maple Leaf Brass Band
$63,200 over one year to purchase instruments and Canadian sheet music for this volunteer band, enabling it to continue providing opportunities for amateur musicians and quality performances for communities in the Ottawa area.

La Nouvelle Scène
$95,000 over three years for this theatre to establish a centre that will train 15 students per year in arts administration and technical support and to develop a volunteer program for Ottawa’s Francophone youth.

$15,000 over three years for professional honoraria for paid choristers and instrumentalists to perform in three major public concerts that will increase the choir's community presence and expand its outreach program to seniors and children.

$28,000 to replace the theatre’s 33-year-old front and inner doors with lighter, power-operated ones, and to create a sloped walkway making the theatre more accessible.

$26,300 over one year to purchase equipment for safety, racing and training purposes, and to upgrade the technical capabilities of coaches and officials responsible for organizing and running ski race events.

Township of Greater Madawaska
$7,300 over six months for software that will allow off-site and off-hours access to the library collection, enabling greater use by patrons with distance or mobility challenges. Funding will also support new satellite library locations.

Township of Whitewater Region
$64,400 over nine months in order to allow the local library to fully automate services in its three regional branches. This will improve community use and satisfaction while enabling librarians to focus on special needs and programming.

Volunteer Ottawa
$75,300 over two years to develop and deliver a program that promotes and supports the placement of people with physical and sensory disabilities in volunteer positions, helping to reduce barriers to participation for all community members.

Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health
$136,400 over two years to develop and deliver parental training circles and programs that promote health and learning activities to children aged 7 to 12 years, helping to respond to the needs of at-risk Aboriginal families in the Ottawa area.

Youth Infringement Theatre Festival
$4,100 over six months to retain mentors and workshop leaders who will assist in the development of eight original plays written and produced by Ottawa-area youth and showcased during a four-day festival in May 2006.

$150,000 over two years to continue providing parental coaching, training and group support to young Francophone parents aged 14 to 25 years living in Ottawa.

$48,700 over one year to improve the facility’s accessibility so that Russell-area seniors and people who are physically challenged can continue to participate in various leisure activities and community events.

$10,000 over one year to support a homework club and a project that aims to use sports as an avenue for community building.

$47,800 over one year to purchase a mobile first- aid post and develop a marketing study, which will build organizational capacity, increase community awareness, attract volunteers and improve services. (An additional grant of $10,000 in Quinte-Kingston-Rideau will support this initiative).

$26,000 over one year to reconstruct the basement of St. John House so the space can be fully utilized for volunteer training, classes in first aid, CPR, WHMIS and AED and for the safe secure storage of equipment, supplies and training aids.

$19,500 over six months to enhance organizational capacity to serve library patrons in 18 small rural communities through increased collection of books on CD and the provision of a book drop in two communities.

$50,000 over one year to develop a strong, viable and sustainable organization that can provide education and support to people who have had a stroke and their families.

Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards
$4,600 over six months for the public library to improve reading area for parents and tots, update the collection of books, videos and DVDs and increase talking and large print books for people with visual impairments.

Township of Madawaska Valley
$9,000 over six months to purchase shelving and furniture in order to enhance the children's reading section at the Barry’s Bay & Area Public Library.

Township of McNab/Braeside
$16,000 over one year to install new lights at the third ball diamond at McNab Centre Park, which will increase the level of participation and the number of games played.

Township of South Glengarry
$35,000 over six months to improve the access and amenities at the Char-Lan Recreation Centre so that people with disabilities can fully participate in community activities offered on site.

Visual Arts Centre, Orléans
$22,900 over one year to set up a volunteer resource management system that will enhance the involvement of volunteers, and improve the cost effectiveness of the centre.

$30,000 to purchase change-room heaters, replace the roof, insulate the building and purchase new rocks for younger players, encouraging healthy activity through the sport of curling.

Andrew Fleck Child Care Services
$50,800 over six months to help transform this Ottawa centre's playground into the Children's Urban Oasis, an inclusive ecological learning environment for children with special needs and from inner-city, low-income and new immigrant families.

Barry's Bay Recreation Committee c/o Township of Madawaska Valley
$15,700 over six months to upgrade the community centre's protective glass, which surrounds the arena ice surface and helps to ensure the safety of players, coaches and spectators.

$13,000 over six months to improve facilities and to purchase new equipment that will enhance the local library’s ability to effectively process book loans and returns.

$25,000 over one year to support the Multi-Cultural Writing Festival, Summer Drama Camp, playwriting workshop and production costs of this community theatre group, contributing to cultural life in the Ottawa region and helping new-Canadian artists.

$25,000 over one year to create an interpretive centre about the lumber industry, which will help to celebrate the historical contribution this industry has made in establishing the city of Ottawa.

$66,000 over three years to further the development of the Ottawa Chamber of Voluntary Organization, a coalition of voluntary organizations representing all sectors of community activity in the city of Ottawa.

$29,500 over one year to develop an environmentally friendly septic system to be used as a demonstration and research site for alternative waste management system in the Cornwall area.

Chesterville and District Agricultural Society
$50,000 over six months to renovate the society's buildings and grounds to better serve the many groups staging annual events at this rural agricultural community facility.

$34,300 over six months to purchase industrial kitchen appliances, install a new kitchen floor and purchase a cargo trailer, helping to improve the service delivery of this camp for economically disadvantaged children and youth in the Ottawa area.

$30,000 over one year to help establish Kidsport Renfrew and KidSport Napanee, which will increase access to sports and recreation for children from low-income families. (An additional grant of $30,000 from Quinte, Kingston and Rideau will support this activity.)

$46,100 over one year to purchase uniforms and soccer and safety equipment needed due to increasing registration. Office equipment will also be purchased to improve administrative efficiency.

$40,000 over two years for a peer education program involving co-operative education placement students in Ottawa.

$30,000 over one year to increase access to the library collection by replacing unsuitable shelving and purchasing reading area furniture to increase the comfort of patrons.

$60,000 over two years to develop a regional database and to adapt a community prevention program aimed at reducing risk factors affecting youth in the region.

$16,600 to purchase a snowmobile, trailer and equipment to establish a permanent network of cross-country ski trails.

$40,000 over one year to increase access to safe accessible play areas specifically for younger children living in the communities of Avonmore, Monkland, Moose Creek, Finch, Berwick and Crysler.

Trees for Tomorrow c/o Ferguson Forest Centre Corporation
$75,000 over two years to support the Butternut Recovery Program and the Trees for Tomorrow Program in planting seedlings in the Champlain region.

Valley Heritage Radio
$30,000 over one year towards the purchase of transmitting equipment for this new radio station, which will provide programming that reflects the demographics of the Ottawa Valley and the unique characteristics of its people.

Vankleek Hill Fiddle & Dance Association
$33,000 over six months to purchase a mobile accessible stage with external railings and ramp to be used for annual community performances by fiddlers and dancers and other community groups.

Women's Initiatives for Safer Environments
$43,400 over 15 months for training materials, personal safety workshops and training for immigrant, refugee and Aboriginal women and women with disabilities to become facilitators of community safety audits in their Ottawa-area communities.
