$61,000 over one year to complete a business plan for an Aboriginal information technology centre that will provide computer training and business development support to members of this Aboriginal community near Sault Ste. Marie.

Cochrane Scout Association
$39,600 over one year to renovate and purchase equipment for the Cochrane Scout Hall and Camp Marwick, improving the facilities and enabling more extensive use by Scouts, Guides and other groups for meetings and recreational activities.

Corporation du canton de Moonbeam
$12,800 over one year to purchase furniture and equipment for the library that will help it be a more effective community-based resource and a place that provides opportunities for lifelong learning.

The Corporation of the Municipality of St. Charles
$5,000 over six months to purchase equipment and furnishings that will upgrade the community library, enabling it to serve patrons in a more comfortable, organized and efficient manner.

The Corporation of the Town of Espanola
$6,800 over six months to purchase a microfilm/microfiche reader/scanner for the library, which will enable patrons and researchers to gain access to census returns and back issues of newspapers.

Corporation of the Township of Billings
$11,400 over one year to purchase equipment, furniture and books and make modifications to modernize the library, which will make the building, its materials and technology more accessible to the community.

Corporation of the Township of Black River - Matheson
$6,800 over one year to convert a small office on the main floor of the public library into an accessible washroom, enabling greater and safer use of the facility by seniors and people with disabilities.

The Corporation of the Township of Dubreuilville
$23,000 over one year to purchase computer equipment and furniture and make facility improvements to the public library. This will improve its safety and efficiency and provide greater access to its resources for community members.

The Corporation of the Township of Johnson
$75,000 over one year to help replace the existing lift at the Desbarats Arena Hall and Community Centre with a full-service, two-stop elevator, which will improve the accessibility and use of the facility.

Knights of Columbus St-Jacques Council No. 5005
$25,000 over one year for renovations to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hanmer, which will ensure that it continues to be available as a safe and comfortable place for community groups to meet.

Lake Superior Conservancy and Watershed Council
$85,400 over two years to build organizational capacity and leadership in the environmental sector by hiring an executive director, enabling this new Algoma-area organization to implement its mission, goals and objectives.

Massey Area Museum
$22,600 over one year to promote, market and purchase art supplies for the second annual Massey Street Painting Festival to be held September 16 and 17, 2006. The festival will increase tourism and support community economic development.

Northern Ontario Art Association (NOAA)
$3,000 to provide free art instruction for six half-days in Timmins and create three mural panels for the new Timmins Public Library as well as fabric banners to beautify South Porcupine streets, helping to bring visual art to the community.

Porcupine United Way
$115,000 over three years to develop the capacity of the voluntary sector in Cochrane District by establishing a centre for non-profit excellence, which will provide training workshops and assistance with proposal writing.

Rainbow Routes Association
$50,000 over one year to purchase trail signage, maps and a display, promoting public awareness of the trail network in Greater Sudbury and encouraging walking, cycling and a healthier, more physically active lifestyle.

Sault Ste. Marie Speed Skating Club c/o The Ontario Speed Skating Association
$25,000 over one year to purchase speed skates and other equipment, which will help promote the sport of speed skating and encourage more people to participate, either on a competitive or recreational basis.

Success Through Schools c/o Children's Aid Society of Algoma
$57,400 over one year to pilot an after-school program in three Sault Ste. Marie neighbourhoods, bringing educational and recreational opportunities to children and parents who are at risk of becoming involved with the child protection system.

Sudbury Provincial Envirothon 2006 c/o Ontario Forestry Association
$20,000 over six months to provide accommodation for participants and purchase materials for the 2006 Provincial Envirothon being held in Sudbury May 10 to 13. The competition will help raise youth awareness and understanding of environmental issues.

Sudbury Youth Orchestra
$29,400 over three years to purchase materials and provide additional music training and operating support for this youth orchestra of musicians aged 10 to 25.

Timmins Regional Athletics and Soccer Complex
$75,000 over one year to purchase equipment for the complex, which will provide athletes with the opportunity to train and the community with a venue for hosting various large-scale sporting events.

L'Union culturelle des Franco-Ontariennes de Smooth Rock Falls a/s L'Union culturelle des Franco-Ontariennes
$22,400 over one year to purchase equipment that will allow this local UCFO chapter to increase its organizational capacity. Funding will provide an increased number and variety of courses and programs to this rural Northern Ontario community.

$6,200 over one year to purchase library equipment, including height-appropriate shelving for children and software to automate the catalogue and circulation systems at the library, located near Little Current.

Boom Camp Management Committee c/o Blind River Development Corporation
$30,000 over one year to improve existing year-round trails by resurfacing them, installing interpretive signs and producing self-guided interpretive and navigational tour brochures, which will increase tourism and trail usage.

Brain Injury Association of Sudbury and District
$78,700 over two years to increase the capacity of the organization to provide services and support to persons with acquired brain injuries and their caregivers.

Canadian Red Cross, Sudbury Branch c/o Canadian Red Cross, Ontario Zone Council
$63,000 over two years to engage volunteers, increase the organization's fund development capacity, diversify the branch's funding sources and improve services.

Centre régional de loisirs culturels Inc.
$20,000 over six months for renovations to soundproof the Méli Mélo hall and install an emergency door in the F.J. Fortin hall, which will enable more people in the Kapuskasing area to attend community activities.

Chapleau Ski Club
$32,000 over one year for operational costs and the purchase of grooming and lift equipment, which will allow this downhill/cross-country club to continue operating and providing healthy recreation opportunities.

City of Greater Sudbury Safe Communities Coalition Inc.
$80,000 over two years to develop the organizational capacity of this community-based organization, which will help it to promote and deliver injury prevention programs.

Club d'âge d'or Alidor
$25,000 over one year for renovations to the seniors' centre in St. Charles, improving its accessibility, comfort and safety for all users.

Corporation de la Ville de Hearst
$10,000 over one year to purchase equipment for the community library, including two Daisy readers and 20 Daisy reader CD books for people with visual impairments.

Corporation of the Town of Gore Bay
$15,000 over one year to purchase a microfilm reader/printer and a desk-top computer, which will improve the capacity of the library to respond to the needs of students and learners in the community.

Corporation of the Township of Prince
$15,000 over one year to improve the community centre’s accessibility and provide better access for people with disabilities to the public library, public Internet access site, fitness class, seniors group and the Early Years Centre.

Disability Resource Centre for Independent Living
$30,400 over two years to recruit and train volunteers for this organization that serves people with disabilities in the Kapuskasing area.

Earl Porter Lanes Recreation Centre
$62,000 over one year to replace obsolete scoring equipment in a bowling facility in Iroquois Falls that employs people with intellectual disabilities.

Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area
$75,000 over one year to establish a Habitat for Humanity re-store, which will sell donated construction and home renovation materials and raise funds to build homes for low-income families in the community.

Iroquois Falls Access Transit
$30,000 over one year to install a ramp and create accessible washroom facilities to make the former Local 90 Community Hall accessible to all members of the community.

Laird Fairgrounds c/o The Corporation of the Township of Laird
$69,500 over one year to renovate the Laird Fairgrounds, so that the community can continue to enjoy an annual agricultural fair and other events and activities that take place there.

Little Current Yacht Club
$20,000 over one year to purchase equipment, boats and life jackets so that the Canadian Yacht Association’s Learn to Sail Program can be offered to 10 to 18 year olds on Manitoulin Island.

Municipalité de Val Rita-Harty
$10,000 over one year to purchase and install a library automation system and a new custom-made circulation desk, which will improve the library’s capacity to provide service to the community.

New Hope Outreach Services
$40,000 over six months to purchase security equipment and common area furnishings for this newly established community support centre serving citizens in need in Sudbury.

Partners in Wetland Conservation c/o Ducks Unlimited Canada
$18,000 to develop the capacity of the organization, enabling it to provide a program that helps landowners and municipalities in the Sault Ste. Marie area conserve depleting wetlands.

Providence Bay Curling Club
$10,000 over six months to recondition 32 curling stones, which will help ensure the continued participation of members in club activities, while enhancing curling skills and curling strategy.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 432, Massey
$25,000 over one year for renovations to the Legion hall in Massey that will improve the accessibility, appearance and energy efficiency of the building.

Soo Curlers Association
$75,000 over one year to rebuild and upgrade the 30-year-old refrigeration plant at the curling club in Sault Ste. Marie.

Sudbury Symphony Orchestra Association Inc.
$59,000 over three years to increase the symphony's organizational capacity, which will allow the group to expand the Conservatory of Music and to further develop their financial stability.

Sudbury Synchro Swim Club
$20,000 over one year to purchase an underwater sound system and other electronic training equipment and provide operating expenses to help the club attract new members and maintain affordable fees while providing a quality program.

Tehkummah Triangle Senior Citizens Club c/o United Senior Citizens of Ontario
$20,000 over one year for equipment and renovations to improve accessibility of the Tehkummah Community Hall, enabling it to better respond to the needs of people with mobility difficulties and increasing its use for community activities and events.

Timmins Family YMCA
$50,400 over one year to purchase and install a new efficient heating system in the building, which will result in significant energy savings and enable expanded recreation and fitness programs to be offered in the community.

The Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens Club of Lee Valley
$8,000 over six months to install a new roof for Lee Valley Hall, a historic Massey-area building that provides a comfortable and accessible location for social and recreational activities for residents of this small rural community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Associations of Sault Ste. Marie c/o Big Brothers Association of Sault Ste. Marie, ON Inc.
$53,000 over two years to increase Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraising capacity and volunteer recruitment through the development of new community partnerships.

Blue Door Café – Sudbury Soup Kitchen
$26,000 over six months to purchase energy efficient appliances for the new Samaritan Centre location of the Blue Door Café – Sudbury Soup Kitchen, which serves approximately 4,500 meals per month to those in need.

Canadian Red Cross Society, Timmins and District Branch c/o Canadian Red Cross, Ontario Zone
$74,000 over two years for volunteer recruitment and fund development, helping to maintain and expand community programs and services now offered by the organization, including disaster response, meals on wheels and transportation support services.

Community Living Greater Sudbury/ Intégration communautaire Grand Sudbury
$39,000 over one year to purchase an accessible van that will provide transportation to persons with intellectual disabilities.

Elliot Lake Men of Song
$5,900 over one year to enable this community men's choir to purchase a portable piano and new sheet music in order to expand its repertoire and increase the number of potential performance venues.

Grassroots Economic Opportunity Development and Evaluation
$108,400 over two years to expand the Stepping Stone Program, which provides business training and small loans for starting or expanding micro-enterprises in the Sudbury area using the peer lending circle model.

Independent Living Resource Centre Corp.
$50,000 over one year to provide training in literacy and crime prevention for adults with disabilities in the Sudbury area.

Inner City Home of Sudbury
$23,000 over one year to complete exterior renovations to the facility, including installation of new windows, insulation, soffit and fascia, which will enable the organization to continue providing a food bank and other services to the community.

L'Atelier des pionniers et des pionnières du Nord
$62,000 over two years to provide operational support that will enable the organization to establish promotional, educational and fundraising plans as well as good sports and recreational programs in the Hearst community and region.

Massey Agricultural Society
$75,000 over one year to renovate the Massey Fair Grounds in order to provide a safe and modern facility that can host agricultural and other community activities and events.

Michipicoten First Nation
$25,000 over one year for equipment and program costs to support the 2005 Youth and Elders gathering to be held at Michipicoten First Nation in the Wawa area in August.

Missanabie Cree First Nation
$45,000 over one year to research and document cultural traditions of the women of the Missanabie Cree First Nation and to present those traditions to today's band members at the 2006 annual gathering in the form of seven workshop modules and a booklet.

Municipalité de Mattice-Val Côté
$17,000 to purchase a photocopier, laptop computer and LCD projector for the public library, which will enhance the services the library provides to the community.

Onaping Falls Nordics Ski Club Incorporated
$45,000 over one year to purchase a tractor and trailer that will be used to improve cross-country ski trails in the Dowling area and bring them up to the standard required to host a national event.

Pauline's Place Non-Profit Homes Inc.
$75,000 over one year to support the operation of Pauline's Place, an eight-bed residential youth shelter in Sault Ste. Marie that provides temporary accommodation for homeless males and females aged 16 to 21 years.

Porcupine Big Brothers and Big Sisters Association
$88,700 over two years for an in-school mentoring program that matches a caring adult with a child at risk, providing each child with a mature responsible adult volunteer mentor.

The Renaissance Seniors' Centre
$75,000 over one year to replace the roof on the centre's building, which will reduce maintenance costs and ensure the continued operation of this Elliot Lake club.

Sault Ste. Marie Safe Communities Partnership
$53,600 over one year to develop and deliver a workplace safety training program for not-for-profit organizations in Sault Ste. Marie that will help ensure a safe work environment for their employees and volunteers.

Société Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin
$75,000 over one year for renovations to establish an Alzheimer centre in Sudbury that will provide services to persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

St. Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers Association Inc.
$73,700 over one year toward the cost of renovating a building to house the Algoma Conservation Centre, which will offer educational conservation and wildlife management programs in the St. Joseph Island-Sault Ste. Marie area.

Sudbury Better Beginnings Educational Fund
$75,000 over one year for renovations to the community centre facility, including the repair of the roof, the northeast wall and the installation of four new windows.

Sudbury Minor Baseball Association
$34,400 over one year to purchase baseball equipment and train coaches for a baseball league serving children and youth aged 4 to 18 years.

Voyageur Trail Association
$25,000 over one year to update the current Voyageur Trail guidebook incorporating the use of Global Positioning System technology in order to promote and increase usage of this hiking trail system along the north shores of Lakes Huron and Superior.
