$16,400 over nine months to improve storage conditions and ensure the long-term preservation of nearly 15,000 artifacts from the Ottawa area. This project will ensure their protection and existence for present and future generations of Canadians.

Canadian Organic Growers, Ottawa Chapter c/o Canadian Organic Growers
$19,400 over one year to develop programs and recruit volunteers to provide farmers, gardeners and the community-at-large with information and training about the benefits of organic agriculture and eating organic foods.

Canadian Red Cross, Cornwall and District Branch c/o Canadian Red Cross, Ontario Zone
$60,000 over three years to help the organization diversify its funding base and recruit more volunteers.
This will help ensure programs and services continue to be provided to outlying areas of the community.

Canadian Theatre Festival Society
$50,000 over one year to develop programs and market and produce the Magnetic North Theatre Festival.
This will help increase attendance, attract tourism and develop appreciation for the arts among students and young people in the Ottawa area.

Canadian Tulip Festival
$40,000 over one year to help develop and sponsor a major international festival featuring regional performers and franco-Ontarian artists, promoting tourism and bringing economic benefits to the Ottawa community and area.

Canterbury Mustangs Football Club
$27,100 over one year to purchase team sports equipment for children aged 8 to 19 years.
Funding will also assist with administration and outreach initiatives to provide young people in the Ottawa area with healthy constructive activities.

Centre culturel Le Chenail
$10,000 over six months to host the organization's 30th anniversary celebrations and produce a first annual francophone music festival. Activities will promote tourism in the Hawkesbury area and showcase local talent.

$14,900 over six months to develop a three-year strategic plan to attract volunteers and promote francophone arts and culture in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry areas.

Coalition of Community Houses, Ottawa c/o Confederation Court Community Organization
$174,600 over three years to support the Early Learning program, which aims to build the literacy skills of at-risk children aged 2 to 6 years from low-income families in multicultural communities living in housing projects.

Columbus House (Pembroke)
$56,000 over one year to help teenaged parents take part in a variety of early childhood programs throughout Renfrew County, which will help them learn parenting skills, get support and complete their high school education.

Community Resource Centre (Renfrew) c/o Community Resource Centre (Killaloe)
$39,700 over one year to attract volunteers, provide referrals and information and consolidate early childhood development programs and activities.
This will increase relief provision to community residents and help prepare children for school.

$60,000 over one year to establish a sewing and clothing cooperative workshop in Ottawa.
This will provide job skills to unemployed persons and help francophone immigrants become more comfortable in the community.

$50,000 over one year to launch a fundraising campaign, purchase a computer and produce a brochure, which will help finance programs aimed at alleviating poverty among francophone children in Ottawa-Carleton.

Coopérative Franco-Présence a/s Conseil de la coopération de l'Ontario
$40,000 over one year to plan and start up an organization for franco-Ontarians, which will foster interaction among members in the Ottawa area and provide opportunities for them to market and sell artistic goods and products.

City of Cornwall & Seaway Valley Doors Open Committee c/o Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism
$14,000 over one year to develop marketing materials for the 2005 Doors Open cultural event.
This will help raise the event’s profile, attract visitors and promote tourism in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry counties.

Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism
$14,800 over two years to develop marketing materials that will promote the Historic Cornwall Jail as a heritage attraction for local residents and tourists.

Corporation of the Town of Petawawa
$44,700 over one year to develop materials and promote activities about the Ottawa River’s history and value.
This will help it to become a designated part of the Canadian Heritage Rivers System, increasing conservation, tourism and travel in the area.

Deep River Potters' Guild c/o Deep River Community Association
$26,600 over one year to purchase and install a new gas kiln and certify its operators.
This will provide skills and artistic training to members, enabling them to produce marketable products that will contribute positively to the area’s economy.

Diefenbunker, Canada's Cold War Museum
$34,000 over one year to purchase and install safety-related equipment that will address current fire safety deficiencies.
The building may then be used more extensively by tourists, community groups and local events in the Ottawa area.

Earth Day Ottawa
$18,300 over one year for environmental programs, contests and the introduction of the EchoTrivia Challenge to local area schools. This will encourage students’ understanding of environmental issues, energy conservation and waste reduction.

Eastern Ontario Conservation Partnership c/o Nature Conservancy of Canada - Ontario Region
$84,000 over two years to provide partners and volunteers with tools and training in key areas of conservation management, budgeting and monitoring.This will increase conservation, volunteerism and relevant information for the Renfrew County community.

Eastern Ontario Marsh Monitoring Program Ambassador Initiative c/o Bird Studies Canada
$44,000 over one year to attract volunteers and encourage community partnerships, developing a greater appreciation for aquatic wetland environments. This will promote conservation, recreation and social opportunities in Renfrew County and Eastern Ontario.

Encore Seniors' Education Centre
$42,000 over two years to attract and train volunteers for seniors programs in the Alexandria area and establish similar activities in the Winchester-Morrisburg area. This will help seniors remain active, healthy and connected to their community.

FM-CFS Canada
$40,000 over one year for educational materials, increased outreach and support to individuals suffering from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. This will help increase professional and public awareness of these illnesses in the Ottawa region.

Glengarry Historical Society
$50,000 over one year to restore the historic Orange Lodge Hall in Dunvegan. It will become the Glengarry Pioneer Museum's first permanent, year-round, full-service and welcoming centre, increasing tourism, recreation and history appreciation.

Gloucester Griffins Junior Lacrosse Club
$33,300 over one year to purchase equipment, recruit and train a volunteer coordinator and provide coaches’ training and certification. This will increase participation and skills in players aged 17 to 21 years, encouraging active healthy lifestyles.

Gloucester Soccer Association
$60,000 over one year to obtain equipment, train volunteer coaches and expand program delivery to a growing membership.
The community will have more access to affordable recreational activity and greater support for active healthy living.

Hunt Club/Riverside Community Services Centre
$82,400 over three years to expand youth-focused programs, aimed at those who traditionally do not participate. Constructive and healthy activity for young people aged 10 to 18 years will be promoted, reducing vagrancy and vandalism in the community.

Kanata Minor Hockey Association
$56,500 over one year to purchase sports and office equipment, train volunteers, provide clinics and host tournaments. This will help provide recreation and healthy activity to approximately 18,000 children, fostering sportsmanship and citizenship.

Maison Interlude House
$102,700 over three years to increase outreach and train volunteers to help women and children victims of abuse. More Prescott-Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry area clients will be able to receive bilingual services.

National Capital Amateur Athletic Association
$52,200 over one year to purchase hockey equipment, which will help over 1,700 young people aged 7 to19 years participate in healthy physical activity, and provide free programs and summer camp spots to less fortunate children.

Odyssey Showcase
$40,000 over one year to market and expand presentations of A Musical Taste of Our Canadian Heritage, an Ottawa-based bilingual stage show celebrating Canada’s identity through music. This will also support the arts, local theatre and tourism.

Ottawa Art Gallery
$90,000 over two years to build the organization’s ability to grow, produce manuals for board and staff members and develop a capital funding plan. This will improve service to the visual arts community and increase visual arts literacy for students.

Ottawa Arts Court Foundation
$20,000 over one year to support and execute a feasibility study regarding possible capital expansion to an adjacent site.
This will provide more space and support for arts in the local community.

Ottawa Fiddle & Step Association
$10,800 over three years to organize an annual step and fiddle competition in the Ottawa Valley, preserving a centuries-old tradition, providing economic benefits to hosting communities and encouraging healthy physical activity among participants.

Ottawa Gaels Gaelic Football Organization
$56,000 over two years to establish and promote the first Gaelic football league for youth in the Ottawa area. Equipment will be purchased and volunteers trained so that young people may access affordable recreation, promoting active healthy living.

Ottawa Pesticides Education Project c/o Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment
$25,000 over one year for public meetings and educational materials to teach citizens about the hazards of toxic lawn products and the advantages of using non-toxic products. Environmental and healthy-living awareness will improve.

Ottawa West Junior B Hockey Club
$30,300 over one year to purchase sports, safety, office and technical equipment, allowing youth aged 16 to 21 years to play advanced-level hockey in West Ottawa.This will encourage physical activity, promote sportsmanship and develop social skills.

Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail Corporation
$35,000 over one year to manage and maintain the 72-kilometre year-round multi-use trail that extends throughout Prescott-Russell. This will further develop its tourism potential, provide recreation and encourage active healthy lifestyles.

Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network c/o Phoenix Centre for Children and Families
$40,400 over one year to update communication materials, recruit and train speakers and improve program delivery. Public awareness of child poverty issues in the community will increase and more joint initiatives to support child welfare will result.

Rideau Curling Club
$60,000 over one year to repair and/or replace up to four of the club's roofs, which will ensure the facility continues to be available to Ottawa citizens, encouraging winter recreation, active lifestyles and better health.

Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club
$60,000 over six months to replace the club's ice-making system, upgrade the mechanical room and physical structures.
This will reduce expenses, give Ottawa members continued use of the facility and allow hosting of the provincial curling finals.

Sentier récréatif de Limoges a/s Comité des citoyens de Limoges
$35,000 over six months to create a recreational multi-use trail suitable for walking, cycling and cross-country skiing, providing recreation for residents of all ages, promoting tourism and encouraging healthy active lifestyles.

Sierra Youth Coalition c/o Sierra Club of Canada
$60,000 over two years to recruit volunteers and involve young people in environmental and social justice issues. This will foster community activism in rural Ottawa areas and help empower under-serviced, marginalized and silent groups of young people.

Société artistique rhythm'n'zouk
$45,000 over one year to coordinate presentations and promote franco-Ontarian ethnocultural artists to major festivals in Canada and abroad, increasing visibility and appreciation of the cultural heritage of francophone artists in the Ottawa region.

South Ottawa Canadians Junior B Hockey Club
$26,100 over one year to purchase sports, safety and training equipment for young players aged 16 to 20 years, which will help prevent injuries and promote healthy physically active lifestyles.

St.Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church
$24,300 over one year to purchase soccer equipment, increase practice time and expand athletic programs for more variety, which will allow greater participation by Ottawa-area residents. Summer camp will also be made possible for 20 children.

Stone Fence Theatre
$40,000 over two years to increase outreach activities and improve administrative systems for the organization, which will attract volunteers and encourage involvement in the performing arts in the Ottawa Valley.

Township of South Glengarry
$37,000 over six months to construct a large gazebo at the Glen Walter Regional Park, which will provide a sheltered space and greater comfort for seniors and families during community events.

Vankleek Hill Music Festival
$5,100 to purchase nine harps to train volunteers for the Healing Harps music program, which will be delivered to Hawkesbury General Hospital, the annual summer music camp and workshops at local elementary schools.

World Inter-Action Mondiale
$120,000 over three years to create a global-education theatre program called GET Going!, which will help Ottawa-area youth become aware of world issues, respect cultural differences and be trained as mentors for others.

Young String Performers' Foundation
$3,900 over one year to arrange and present a master class for ten young Ottawa-area string performers, taught by an internationally respected artist and teacher. Two students will receive a subsidy to attend a University of Ottawa master class.

Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa
$76,500 over two years to develop materials, train staff and deliver a comprehensive parenting education and family therapy program.This will help prevent family breakdowns and reduce the need for out-of-home placements for adolescents.

$21,800 over six months to upgrade facilities used by volunteers and provide affordable meals and recreational activities to Cornwall area residents, many of whom are isolated and living on limited incomes.

Immigrant Women Services Ottawa
$104,000 over three years to support initiatives to broaden the organization’s funding base so that it can better serve the diverse needs of newcomer women and children.

Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Williamsburg Lodge 349
$34,200 over one year to purchase new kitchen equipment and appliances for this community facility in Williamsburg that is a popular meeting place.

Killaloe & District Senior Citizens Friendship Club
$21,000 over six months to support programs and activities for seniors and people with disabilities in the Killaloe area, including the popular Day Away program for frail elderly individuals.

Nepean Housing Corporation
$97,800 over two years to support community development initiatives and programs for residents living in five social housing projects located in west-end Ottawa.

Ottawa River Institute
$33,100 over one year to continue Destination Conservation, a popular program offered to fifth grade students in the Renfrew area, and to undertake new initiatives to promote sustainable communities.

Pink Triangle Services
$100,000 over two years to support the fund development and volunteer coordination activities of this community-based organization serving individuals and families in Ottawa's gay and lesbian community.

Renfrew Amateur Wrestling Club
$15,000 over six months to assist the club in hosting the 2005 Canadian Senior Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Renfrew and to expand wrestling programs throughout the community.

Seaway Valley Minor Hockey Association
$32,300 over one year to provide safe and accessible hockey programs to children and youth in the Seaway Valley and nearby communities.

SomArts+ c/o Centre culturel Le Chenail
$48,000 over six months to purchase and install moveable risers, which will enable the Hawkesbury francophone community to accommodate performances for larger audiences.

Stittsville Pastoral Charge
$25,000 over eight months to upgrade a Stittsville community space that is used for social and recreational activities by area residents of all ages.

$26,500 over six months to renovate the building to increase accessibility and enhance the safety and comfort for residents who use the facility.

$30,000 over one year to support the SAW Video Youth Program, an annual program that helps provide marginalized youth with marketable skills.

Shady Nook Recreation Association
$27,200 to install vinyl flooring in the lobby, canteen and dressing room areas to meet health regulations and increase the safety of players and spectators at the Pembroke facility.

Sons of Scotland Pipe Band
$30,000 to purchase new uniforms and equipment for members and volunteers of this Ottawa organization, which is the oldest civilian pipe band in Canada.

Stormont Yacht Club
$46,000 over one year to replace the docks and purchase a rescue boat and motor to increase safety and accessibility at the Cornwall facility, which will allow the club to respond quickly to emergencies on the water.

United Jewish Appeal of Ottawa
$10,000 over one year to support the participation of local and regional artists in the annual Aviv Spring Festival to be held in May 2005 and develop fund raising strategies for this annual event.

Victoria's Quilts Canada
$37,500 over six months to purchase equipment and materials to assist volunteer quilters in providing handmade quilts and support to individuals undergoing cancer treatment in Ottawa, Cornwall and Renfrew County.

Victorian Order of Nurses, Eastern Counties Branch
$119,000 over three years to establish a Palliative Day-Away Program to provide diversion, support and ongoing professional assessment for clients and respite for their caregivers in Cornwall and nearby communities.

Women's Voices Festival
