Centre culturel La Ronde
$25,000 over one year to renovate the centre, which will provide a more attractive venue for community organizations in the Timmins area interested in renting the facility.

City of Greater Sudbury Developmental Services
$100,000 over two years to establish an herb- production enterprise that will provide job-skills training for people with intellectual disabilities and generate revenue for the organization.

The City of Greater Sudbury Sportlink
$41,000 over one year to establish and market a community sports council that will promote sports, tourism and healthy active lifestyles in Sudbury.

Club Richelieu de Noëlville
$23,000 over one year to improve the community’s outside environment and appearance. This will help revitalize the area for its centennial anniversary celebrations and promote tourism, attracting 3,000 people to the festivities.

Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury
$37,000 over one year to establish a recreation centre, which will provide programs and activities to help immigrant francophone women and young people become established in the area.

Espanola Curling Club
$29,000 over one year to replace the roof over the ice surface of the club. This will encourage participation in the sport of curling and help promote healthy winter activities for the entire community.

Extreme North Gymnastics Club
$60,500 over two years for gymnastics equipment, operating costs and coaches’ training, which will help promote healthy, energetic and disciplined lifestyles to children and students in the Greater Sudbury area.

Garden River First Nation
$75,000 over three years to operate a sports and leisure program, which will offer healthy-living programs and high-impact physical activities to this first nation community, as well as mentoring opportunities for at-risk youth.

Providence Bay/Spring Bay Recreation Committee c/o Community of Christ
$20,000 over six months to develop a website, improve outreach and collect, restore and display historically-significant photos and documents, which will increase tourism at the Providence Bay Harbour Interpretative Centre and area.

Sudbury Children's Water Festival c/o Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition
$39,000 over seven months to help establish a water festival, which will teach Grade 3 students about the importance of water conservation, appreciation and protection.

Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation
$35,000 over one year to conduct a marketing and promotion program, which will increase volunteer and sponsorship recruitment in support of the Send a Kid to Camp program.

Trinity United Church
$60,000 over six months to help renovate washrooms and install a lift, making all levels of the church fully accessible to people with disabilities. This will increase usage of the facility by a greater number of groups in the Capreol community.

United Way of Sault Ste. Marie
$35,000 over one year to replace outdated campaign and accounting DOS-based computer software with an integrated, Windows-based system. This will provide better information management, efficiency and service delivery in the community.

Volunteer Sudbury / Bénévolat Sudbury
$54,000 over one year to establish a program that promotes volunteerism in the community and matches willing volunteers with suitable organizations and activities.

$25,000 over six months to support Sault Ste. Marie in hosting the 2005 Canadian Community Economic Development Network conference, which will benefit the region.

Abitibi Golf Club
$75,000 over one year to install an irrigation system at this nine-hole golf course in Iroquois Falls that is popular with community residents and attracts tourists to the area.

Biz Map Competition

$77,100 over three years to coordinate a youth business plan competition that will encourage young people in Sault Ste. Marie to become local entrepreneurs instead of seeking employment elsewhere.

Canadian Red Cross, Sault Ste. Marie & District Branch
c/o Canadian Red Cross, Ontario Zone
$50,000 over one year to raise the profile of the Red Cross and undertake fund development activities to help sustain existing Red Cross programs throughout the Algoma District.

Cinefest: The Sudbury Film Festival
$152,200 over three years to support the expansion of the Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival by building its financial and human resources capacity through the development of new partnerships, sponsorships and volunteers.

Community Living Algoma
$40,000 over one year to purchase an additional van for a service that provides safe and accessible transportation for people with physical and intellectual disabilities throughout the District of Algoma.

Corporation of the Town of Hearst
$75,000 over one year to install new flooring in a community recreational centre in Hearst that is used for fitness activities and sports events.

Iroquois Falls Preschool Early Years Centre
$75,000 over three years to enhance learning opportunities for young children and their parents by offering school readiness, music, early literacy and health programs.

Lions Community Heritage Sound Studio c/o Valley East Lions Club
$23,000 over one year to purchase equipment for a community recording studio and to produce a bilingual festive season CD for area seniors.

Older Adult Centre Sudbury
$100,000 over two years to undertake marketing activities, establish a city-wide network of seniors groups, and develop community partnerships to enhance services for seniors.

Sault Trails and Recreation
$18,400 over one year to purchase equipment that will extend cross-country skiing opportunities for Sault Ste. Marie residents and visitors and to enhance marketing initiatives.

Seizure and Brain Injury Centre
$40,000 over one year to recruit volunteers and strengthen the organization’s ability to offer services to individuals and families throughout Northeastern Ontario.

Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers
$13,000 over one year to support Sudbury in hosting the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers 2005 Annual Training Sessions, which will contribute to community safety.

Sudbury Summerfest Foundation
$84,500 over three years to purchase equipment for the Summerfest festival in Sudbury and support its marketing, program development and volunteer training activities.

Timmins Computer Refurbishment & Training Centre
c/o Renewed Computer Technologies - Ontario
$52,500 over three years to establish a computer repair and training centre in Timmins to supply refurbished computers to schools and not-for-profit organizations in the area.

Valley East Waves Swim Club
$10,000 over six months to purchase office and training equipment for this Hanmer-based club so that area youth will benefit from enhanced competitive and non-competitive swimming programs.

Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club Inc.
$19,600 over one year to purchase trail grooming equipment and cross-country ski equipment that will provide enhanced recreational opportunities for Sudbury area residents and tourists.

$100,000 over two years to help the organization grow and deliver more mentoring services to meet the needs of boys aged 6 to14 from father-absent homes in the community.

$75,000 over one year to renovate the Centennial Arena to reduce energy costs and increase accessibility for the many community members who participate in sports and recreation programs at the arena.

FillesFantastiques : voix créatives pour le changement a/s Centre Victoria pour femmes
$25,000 over nine months to develop culturally and linguistically appropriate materials to be used in workshops for francophone and aboriginal girls aged 13 to 19 in Sudbury as part of the province-wide Girlspoken project.

Corporation of the Town of Iroquois Falls and Devonshire Park Splash Pad and Playspace Development Committee c/o Iroquois Falls Lions Club
$60,000 over one year to purchase and install a new play structure in Devonshire Park that will enhance the quality of life for children of all abilities in the community by providing a fun place for outdoor physical activity.

Kapuskasing Rod and Gun Club
$15,000 over one year to renovate the 45-year-old building so that the club can continue to operate and provide an inexpensive location for local community events.

Learning Disabilities Association of Sault Ste. Marie
$68,500 over two years to assist the organization to provide increased support and services to children with learning disabilities so that they can succeed in the classroom and in life.

Lively Trinity Pastoral Charge
$15,000 over six months to renovate the church hall in Sudbury to make it a safer and more comfortable meeting space for the many local organizations and groups who use the facility for meetings and events.

Metis Nation of Ontario - Timmins
$19,500 over one year to teach Métis people the traditional craft of birch bark canoe building to increase cultural awareness and promote physical activity.

No Strings Attached Community Band
$24,500 over one year to purchase new percussion equipment to allow this community band in Sudbury to expand its repertoire, increase membership and increase the number of annual public performances.

Rainbow Country Snowmobile Association Inc.
$25,000 over one year to install caution signs as required by provincial guidelines to provide safe snowmobile trails for members of five clubs in the Espanola area and for tourists visiting the area.

Rebound North c/o Algoma Family Services
$120,000 over two years to provide an early-intervention social skills program together with a remedial education for at-risk youth aged 12 to 17 in Sault Ste. Marie in an outdoor setting.

Timmins Symphony Orchestra Inc.
$35,000 over six months to renovate the building and purchase musical equipment to create an improved learning venue for teachers and students including soundproof practice rooms, a lounge area for parents and students, and a boardroom.

United Way/Centraide Sudbury and District
$60,000 over one year to launch the Success by Six initiative in Sudbury. The program, which has been delivered in more than 350 communities, ensures that all children aged 0 to 6 in the community are healthy, nurtured and ready to succeed.

Wikwemikong Anishinabe Association for Community Living
$48,000 over one year to purchase an accessible van to provide transportation to activities and appointments for people with physical and developmental disabilities in this rural first nations community.

Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve
$25,000 over one year to teach literacy, numeracy and basic life skills to youth on social assistance to improve their prospects for employment or higher education.

Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH)
$80,000 over three years to help establish and operate a day hospice program in Sault Ste. Marie. The program will provide palliative care services to terminally ill clients and respite services to their caregivers.

Algoma Traditional Music and Dance Group
$19,700 over six months to offer a traditional music and dance family camp program on St. Joseph Island to promote interest in the study of traditional music and dance.

The Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens Club of Lee Valley
$14,000 over six months to renovate Lee Valley Hall to provide an accessible and comfortable location for social and recreational activities for residents of this small rural community.

Blind River Cross Country Ski Club
$20,000 over six months to purchase new ski grooming and tracking equipment to improve the quality of the ski trails and increase membership in the club.

Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre
$75,000 over one year to conduct an energy conservation audit, install energy conservation equipment and cover heating and utility costs to help ensure this important tourism attraction in Sault Ste. Marie continues to operate.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Sault Ste. Marie Branch
$91,500 over three years to establish a supported education resource centre that will provide basic literacy and academic upgrading for people with serious mental illness to improve their quality of life and employment prospects.

Central United Church
$25,000 to install a new sound system in order to provide a mid-sized, low-cost venue in Sault Ste. Marie for performances by community musical groups and visiting performers.

Closing the Distance for Children in Sudbury c/o Social Planning Council of the Sudbury Region
$100,000 over two years to develop strategies and resources that will enable teachers and recreation program supervisors to develop more inclusive school and playground environments for children.

Conseil des Arts de Hearst
$25,000 to expand the programming of the 8th Festival national de l'Humour de Hearst to increase participation and include shows for Anglophone and Aboriginal audiences.

Habitat for Humanity Sudbury District
$75,000 over one year to fund the start-up of a ReStore to sell recycled construction materials, which would provide a steady source of income for the homebuilding activities of the organization.

Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area
$53,000 over one year to research and develop a business plan for a ReStore to sell used and surplus building materials as a means to raise funds to provide adequate and affordable housing for low-income families.

Iroquois Falls Cross Country Ski Club
$22,200 over one year to purchase an eight- wheel all-terrain vehicle to enable the club to maintain and improve the quality and safety of its trails in all seasons.

James Bay Frontier Division/Camp Chimo c/o Girl Guides of Canada, Ontario Council
$18,500 over one year to renovate and upgrade six sleep cabins at Camp Chimo in Timmins to meet current health and safety standards and increase year round bookings at the camp.

Radio communautaire KapNord Inc.
$71,000 over one year to purchase and install radio communication equipment to improve the reception and quality of the community radio station, which serves Francophones in the Kapuskasing area.

Sault Minor Football Association
$24,000 over one year to purchase football uniforms and protective equipment to help ensure the safety of participants in the children's football program.

St. John Ambulance, Porcupine/Timmins Branch c/o St. John Council for Ontario
$25,000 over one year to promote and provide First Aid, CPR, health and safety and safety awareness programs for children and youth aged 9 to 16.

Sudbury Canadians Soccer Club
$22,500 over one year to purchase soccer and training equipment to enhance the club's ability to offer coaching and training programs.

Sudbury Northerners Football Club Inc.
$25,000 over six months to purchase protective equipment and uniforms for a new Ontario Varsity Football League team for youth aged 14 to 19.

The Corporation of the Town of Espanola
$10,500 to assist with the costs of programming and entertainment for the inaugural Espanola Paper Festival, which will celebrate the town's paper heritage and economy, and attract tourists to the community.
