2004 Multiple Births Canada Annual General Meeting & Conference c/o Timiskaming Child and Family Services
$23,400 over nine months to assist in holding the 2004 Multiple Births Canada Conference in New Liskeard so that Timiskaming area social service organizations will be able to participate and learn how to better support multiple birth families.

Aktif Beamers Gymnastic Club
$28,000 over one year to purchase gym equipment so that more children and youth in Huntsville can participate in quality fitness programs in a safe, competitive facility.

Almaguin Highlands Community Living
$31,800 over one year for renovations to the Sundridge facility that will improve access for people with disabilities and older adults. Increased accessibility will allow more people to participate in programs and activities held in the centre.

Bala Curling Club
$40,000 over one year to replace the walls and roof surrounding the club’s ice surface to make the building safer and easier to maintain, ensuring the community can continue to enjoy recreational curling.

Bracebridge Men's Recreational Ball League Inc.
$8,300 over six months to host the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Elimination Tournament in Bracebridge on the August long weekend.

Bracebridge Soccer Club
$24,400 to install lighting in the multi-field complex so that soccer can be played at night. This will give more youth in the area an opportunity to play and will allow the community to host more tournaments and games with other communities.

Callander Horticultural Society
$5,500 over one year to purchase technological equipment to improve the Horticultural Society's educational program and to repair the benches at Memory Tree Park in Callander.

Centre culturel La Mine d'Art
$10,000 over three months to increase access to the organization's programs and activities by constructing a wheelchair accessible washroom.

Classic Theatre Cobalt
$24,900 over six months to enable this valued community theatre in Cobalt to strengthen its organizational capacity by implementing key recommendations from its strategic plan.

Community Living Huntsville
$10,000 over one year to increase awareness and understanding of individuals with developmental disabilities by sponsoring a two-day educational conference for youth and their families, educators, business partners and community service providers.

Consortium to Support the Communication Development of Nonspeaking Persons c/o Blissymbolics Learning Centre-Muskoka
$24,000 over one year to convert a van to accommodate people with disabilities travelling to the learning centre in Bala. This will enable the centre to remain open year-round and allow more nonspeaking people to benefit from its programs.

Corporation Garderie Bouton d'or Timiskaming
$13,700 over one year to train staff and purchase new equipment and furnishings to provide quality French-language daycare to families in New Liskeard.

Corporation of the Township of Evanturel
$6,000 to beautify and promote the newly re-established Englehart River Hiking Trail by installing rest stops, bird feeders, signs and map boards. The initiative will benefit residents and attract tourists to the area.

Corporation of the Township of Gauthier
$5,700 to create a skateboarding park to give children and adults in the community a physical activity that will contribute to their well-being and to build a stronger volunteer base in the community.

Corporation of the Village of South River
$12,000 over one year to upgrade the audio-visual system of South River’s community centre arena in order to enhance special presentations and performances by community groups.

Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre
$24,000 over nine months to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of theatrical productions for children by children through administrative upgrading and the purchase of theatrical equipment by this children’s theatre company in North Bay.

Ducks Unlimited Canada
$25,000 over one year to develop and implement a coastal wetlands conservation program in Parry Sound and to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of this habitat through civic involvement and stewardship.

Dwight Lakeview Seniors Association
$4,500 to purchase furniture and make improvements to a popular community facility that is used for many social activities by seniors from Dwight and surrounding communities.

East Ferris Fitness Association
$16,000 over one year to purchase cardiovascular exercise equipment to meet the needs of the growing membership and to offer fitness programs for underserved youth in the Township of East Ferris.

Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka
$25,000 over one year to broaden and increase prevention and intervention programs such as Community Justice Circles and mentoring programs for children, youth and families of youth at risk in Muskoka District.

Georgian Nordic and Nature Group c/o Georgian Nordic Ski & Canoe Club
$28,800 over one year to purchase a tractor and loader in order to maintain a cross-country trail system which benefits residents and attracts tourist to the area.

Gravenhurst Skating Club Inc.
$12,100 over one year to increase membership and strengthen the skating club's profile in order to provide affordable and accessible skating programs for children of all levels of ability.

Greening Nipissing / Ecologisation Nipissing
$40,000 over two years to deliver an environmental program called “The Green Home Visit” to residents of the districts of Nipissing and Parry Sound. The program provides advice and assistance on a wide range of environmental concerns.

Humphrey and District Figure Skating Club
$20,000 over three years to enhance the profile of figure skating and increase membership so that more area residents will be able to benefit from the sport.

Jocko Point Lessees Association Inc.
$30,800 over one year to make improvements including upgrading the kitchen and installing an air exchanger in a community facility that is well used by Jocko Point residents of all ages.

KidSport North Bay c/o Sport Alliance of Ontario
$32,200 over two years to enable more North Bay area youth to participate in sports by strengthening the organization’s capacity through initiatives including volunteer development and marketing.

Kirkland Lake Winter Carnival Committee
$15,000 over two years to support marketing initiatives that will raise the profile of the Kirkland Lake Winter Carnival, benefiting tourism in the area.

Lake Nipissing Stewardship Council (LNSC)
$89,500 over two years to expand public education and awareness about the council and the importance of preserving the health of the lake through a series of public seminars and workshops.

Literacy Network Northeast
$59,000 over two years to implement a one-stop bilingual literacy referral and assessment service for adults returning to school in South Timiskaming.

Local Services Board of Tilden Lake (LSBTL)
$9,800 over six months to improve the kitchen facilities at the Tilden Lake Community Center which is used for social and recreational activities by area residents of all ages.

Mattawa and District Horticultural Society
$22,200 to build a wooden walkway in Park Mattawan to provide access to the waterfront and park facilities for seniors, mothers with strollers and people with disabilities.

Muskoka Literacy Council
$30,000 over three years to create a stakeholder database, establish connections with key stakeholders and conduct a public awareness campaign to raise the agency's profile and increase understanding of literacy issues in Muskoka.

Muskoka Seniors Home Assistance
$24,300 over one year to better serve Muskoka area seniors, attract volunteers and increase fundraising by purchasing needed administrative equipment and developing a data base of clients, volunteers and financial supporters.

Muskoka-Parry Sound Community Mental Health Service
$36,300 over one year to hold a series of training sessions for community workers, focusing on worker trauma, crisis intervention and critical incident stress debriefing.

Nipissing First Nation Recreation Committee
$22,000 over one year to purchase gym equipment and athletic wear, and to enable the youth to decorate their gym with a mural.

North Bay & District Association for Community Living
$26,300 over one year to conduct a large scale awareness campaign to increase knowledge about the needs of people with developmental disabilities and the services provided by the agency.

North Bay and Area Disabled Adult and Youth Centre
$23,700 over one year to retrofit a van so that it can provide safe transportation for persons with disabilities wishing to go to the doctor or participate in recreational, educational and social activities.

North Bay Area Museum Society
$86,300 over three years to facilitate the merger of the museum, the Heritage Railway and Carousel with the Heritage Gardeners through training and better use of the more than 700 active volunteers.

North Bay Baseball Association
$17,000 over seven months to enable North Bay area youth to develop baseball skills and play safely by purchasing needed sports equipment.

North Bay Kiwanis Festival of Music and Dance
$20,000 over three years to improve the festival through enhanced training and development opportunities for youth, instructors and participants and strengthening infrastructure and volunteer support through a marketing and fundraising campaign.

North Bay Symphony Society
$45,000 over two years to enable the North Bay Symphony to continue to provide quality performances to members of the community and tourists while it conducts a search for a resident conductor.

North Bay Tennis Club
$10,000 over one year to repair and resurface two of the tennis courts to improve safety and increase participation in this community club, which offers recreational play and instructional programs for all ages.

Parry Sound Family Service
$23,200 over two years to initiate a family counselling service in Parry Sound which will help families experiencing marital, parenting, financial and other difficulties.

Port Carling Curling Club
$25,000 over two months to repair the ice-making system so that the club will be able to continue to operate and expand the curling season for area residents.

Port Sydney/Utterson and Area Chamber of Commerce
$10,600 over three years to support the operations of the Chamber of Commerce serving the Port Sydney and Utterson area so that it can continue to undertake valued community initiatives and increase membership.

Rapport Singers of North Bay
$16,000 over three years to increase the visibility and diversity of this volunteer-run choir by developing and maintaining a website, purchasing music for concerts and community events and increased publicity.

Rod Inglis Memorial Earlton Steam & Antique Society
$10,300 over one year to increase visibility of the annual steam show in order to preserve community interest in the organization and attract a new generation of enthusiasts.

Rotary Club of North Bay
$17,800 over one year to install an eighteen-hole disc golf course on Jack Pine Hill which will provide summer recreation for area youth.

Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 445
$21,000 over one year to revitalize the Callander Pipe Band by purchasing instruments, a sound system and uniforms. The initiative will attract new members and enable the band to continue to perform at community events.

Severn Bridge Community Hall
$17,700 over six months to make upgrades to this popular community facility in Severn Bridge which is used for many social and recreational activities by area residents.

South River Curling Club
$20,600 over one year to repair the club’s roof and install a dehumidifier to provide curlers with safer conditions and better quality ice surface.

South River Friendly Circle Senior Citizens
$6,200 over one year to repair the roof of the seniors’ club to provide a well-heated and comfortable environment for seniors' activities and programs. The building is also used as an emergency shelter and a meeting place for many local groups.

Stephenson Co-operative Nursery School
$9,000 over six months to renovate the children’s washroom of this community nursery serving families living in rural areas between Huntsville and Bracebridge.

Strong Agricultural Society
$22,500 over one year to renovate a 100-year-old log heritage house and sheep shed in Sundridge to promote the community’s rich agricultural heritage and demonstrate agricultural and pioneering skills to visitors.

Temagami Stewardship Council
$30,000 over one year to support the Spawning Shoal Project identifying, locating and evaluating lake trout and pickerel spawning areas in Lake Temagami. This will provide valuable information to enhance the fishery of the lake.

Temiskaming District Assessment and Resource Service
$22,000 to improve the professional look of this wellness assessment and resource service, present quality presentations on health and well-being in the workplace, and purchase office and presentation equipment for the Englehart office.

Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club
$9,800 over one year to make cross-country skiing more accessible by purchasing ski equipment that will be loaned to area children and adults who are interested in trying out the sport.

The Temiskaming Festival of Music
$5,000 over two months to broaden the scope of the music festival and to hold events to commemorate its 65th anniversary.

Town of Huntsville
$25,000 over six months to begin restoration of the heritage Huntsville Canadian National Railway Station with the purchase and installation of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Town of Parry Sound
$49,900 over eight months to purchase reusable and durable equipment for the Parry Sound Logging Days Festival which will contribute to the safety of spectators and the financial sustainability of this important annual event.

Township of Muskoka Lakes
$36,400 over six months to install a wheelchair elevator lift in the Milford Bay Community Centre so that both levels of the facility are accessible to area residents.

Tri-Town Senior Shuffleboard Association
$8,800 over one year to install benches and a sun screen to enhance the enjoyment and safety of community members watching or participating in the association’s recreational activities. Area seniors, in particular, will benefit.

Tri-Town Ski Village
$17,000 over two months to purchase two snowmobiles to maintain efficient lift operations and provide emergency transportation in the event of an accident.

Trout Creek Seniors Friendship Club c/o United Senior Citizens of Ontario Inc.
$6,900 over one year to purchase appliances, furnishings and an outdoor sign to revitalize the club for current members and to attract young seniors as new members.

West Ferris Ringette Association of North Bay
$23,800 to purchase team uniforms, a shot clock and player equipment to establish a lending program that will enable children from low income families to participate in the sport of ringette.

Women's Own Resource Centre
$25,000 over one year to support the Micro Business Development Centre, a new initiative to assist individuals in establishing viable small businesses which will enhance South River’s thriving storefront community and attract tourists.
