$77,100 over two years to support outreach, volunteer training and fund development to provide enhanced services for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Atikokan Economic Development Corporation
$15,000 over six months to support and promote the club's canoe heritage activities, enabling increased participation by residents and tourists of all ages and helping to establish the community as the Canoe Capital of Canada.

Atikokan Fix-It Club
$14,700 over one year to purchase equipment that will attract new members and enable them to improve their skills, enhance workmanship and increase the quality and volume of services provided.

Atikokan Ringette Association
$12,000 over two months for equipment and resource materials to recruit new players and assist players and coaches with skills training.

Canadian National Institute for the Blind - Northwest District
$24,100 over one year to support a Community Liaison Program for individuals with visual impairments in the Rainy River/Fort Frances area.

Chukuni Communities Development Corporation
$25,000 over one year to turn downtown areas of Red Lake into outdoor art galleries for the benefit of residents and to attract tourists.

Couchiching First Nation
$23,000 over eight months to purchase recreational, sport and fitness equipment for theCouchiching First Nation’s newly constructed multi-use community centre.

Family Services Thunder Bay
$18,700 over one year to purchase equipment for a counselling project that provides mental health services to families in northwestern Ontario.

Fort Frances Aquanauts Swim Club
$24,000 over two years to assist with coaching, leadership development and training for children and youth in the Aquanaut Swim Club program in the Fort Frances area.

Fort Frances Centennial Celebration 2003 c/o Rainy Lake Multicultural Association
$25,000 over one year for activities to promote culture, arts and heritage in Fort Frances during the community’s 2003 Centennial Celebrations.

Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau
$25,000 over one month to purchase and install new furnace equipment in the historic Fort Frances CN Station enabling the Bureau to continue offering volunteer programs and services to people of all ages and abilities in the community.

The Fort William Male Choir
$15,200 over two months for the development of a marketing strategy to improve the choir's capacity to attract new members from the community.

Geraldton Minor Hockey League Association
$12,600 over three months to purchase equipment for minor hockey, ringette and women's hockey teams in order to provide safe, healthy and strong recreational programs for children and women.

Gillies Community Centre
$37,600 over three months for building renovations at the Gillies Community Centre, which provides recreational, cultural and social events for the residents of this community.

Harmony Centre for Community Living
$20,200 over one year to help purchase a new vehicle to take the centre’s clients, who are adults with disabilities, to and from work, and to transport equipment used for programs.

Independent Living Resource Centre Thunder Bay
$184,300 over three years to provide enhanced resources and support for people with physical, developmental and other disabilities through computer training, fundraising and volunteer management.

J&M Judo Club
$21,000 over one year to purchase new equipment to ensure safe, healthy and up-to-date training facilities for members aged six to 60 to maintain active, healthy lifestyles.

Kenora Assembly of Resources
$101,500 over two years for operating support to enable the organization to continue to provide social and recreational programming for Kenora area youth.

Kenora Nordic Trails Association
$48,000 over one year to expand and upgrade the club's cross-country trail system to provide improved facilities for local nordic skiers and tourists to the area.

Lakehead Social Planning Council
$163,800 over three years to enhance outreach and improve information technology to provide improved service to individuals and member organizations in the community.

Live From The Rock Blues and Folk Society Inc.
$25,000 over two months to purchase sound equipment and improve the quality of the concert series presented annually in Red Rock and surrounding areas. The equipment will also be made available to other community groups.

Marathon Curling Club
$60,600 over one year to renovate the facility, improve energy efficiency and provide enhanced recreational opportunities for members and area residents.

Marathon Judo Club
$20,600 over one month to purchase new mats so that area youth and adults can receive safe judo training. These character-building programs enable members of all ages in the community to benefit from an active, healthy lifestyle.

Mount Evergreen Ski Club
$23,200 over eight months to provide operating support so that the club can continue to offer winter recreational opportunities for area residents.

Navy League of Canada - Terrace Bay/Schreiber Branch
$38,800 over one year to renovate the Sea Cadet Hall in order to offer area youth improved programs.

Panic and Anxiety Association of Northwestern Ontario
$46,100 over two years for administrative support and resource materials to provide services to persons and families affected by panic and anxiety disorders.

Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay
$24,000 over three months to purchase bagpipes and drums, and increase the number of students attending the pipes and drums school, whose popular concerts are enjoyed by the residents of Thunder Bay and surrounding areas.

Polly Lake Girl Guide Camp, Thunder Bay Division
$34,700 over six months to renovate and repair camp buildings to provide recreational opportunities for young women from northwestern Ontario.

Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club
$25,000 over one year to develop multi-use recreational trails primarily for cross country skiing in winter, and hiking and mountain biking in summer by residents of all ages.

Red Lake Area Golf and Country Club
$25,000 over two months for driving range equipment to provide increased recreational opportunities for area residents and visitors.

Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival & Special Events
$75,000 over three years for administrative support to ensure the continued growth and success of the Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival and special events in the community.

Sunset Country Gymnastics Club
$25,000 over one year to purchase gymnastics equipment for a new club for children and youth in the Dryden area.

Thunder Bay and District Humane Society
$30,000 over three years to develop program and training manuals for youth and adult volunteers, and to recruit and train new volunteers.

Thunder Bay Art Gallery
$75,000 over two months to make renovations to the Gallery’s library and administrative areas of the building, and install an accessible public washroom.

Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers
$10,000 over three months for educational programming at the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers Training Conference in Thunder Bay, June 14 - 17, 2003.

Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association
$28,800 over one year to purchase office equipment and provide management support in order to offer effective sports and recreational opportunities to area teenagers.

Thunder Bay Nordic Trails Association
$50,300 over one month to purchase a truck and other equipment to maintain the trails for the benefit of residents and visitors to the area.

Thunder Bay Regional Arts Council
$101,000 over two years to establish a community arts and heritage education program that provides improved co-ordination and promotion of community arts programming among artists, community organizations, students and the public.

Trout Forest Music Festival
$25,000 over five months to purchase equipment enabling this three day festival to provide quality folk music performances to 1,500 participants of all ages, during the event and additional concerts throughout the year.

United Way of Thunder Bay
$25,000 over one year to implement United Way's new campaign computer software systems thereby increasing ability to raise funds in support of community organizations and agencies.

Volunteer Action Centre of Thunder Bay
$89,400 over two years to create opportunities for hundreds of Thunder Bay's youth to become volunteers, contribute to their community, and acquire valuable skills.
