AIDS Committee of Thunder Bay
$25,000 over one year to evaluate current programs, increase community awareness, consult with clients, and support programs and services relating to AIDS/HIV.

Atikokan Fix-It Club
$13,000 over one year to replace worn tools and equipment for the club.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Patricia Region
$45,000 over three years for operating support to encourage recruitment of new Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and to help implement new programs.

Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario
$50,000 over two years to further establish a local presence in Kenora District. This will support one staff position and travel costs in order to better serve brain injury survivors and their families in the region.

Canadian Red Cross Society, Thunder Bay & District Branch
$33,800 over one year to provide injury prevention training to people in remote areas and isolated communities east of Thunder Bay who may not otherwise receive training due to their geographic location or financial situation.

Drug Awareness Committee of Thunder Bay
$20,100 over eleven months to deliver a program to discourage binge drinking among youth (ages 15 to 24). The program will be delivered at Confederation College, Lakehead University and high schools across Northwestern Ontario.

Dryden Skills Centre
$44,000 over one year to develop and deliver a meal program to enhance life skills and employment training for individuals with disabilities.

Four C's (Counchiching Child Care Centre), Fort Frances
$26,600 over one year to install playground equipment for both the pre-school and toddler play yards for children attending this childcare centre.

Ignace Lions Club
$25,000 over six months to purchase fitness equipment to improve the facilities available to the community.

Kenora Scottish Pipes & Drums
$16,200 over eight months to upgrade band equipment. The band promotes Scottish culture and provides public performances in communities around the region.

Kenora Rowing Club
$75,000 over three years for enhanced coaching and to purchase new equipment to enable the junior program to be offered to more young people.

Kiwanis Club of Westfort Inc.
$25,000 over ten months for operational support for the Kiwanis Play Kare Centre. The centre offers free programming to a total of 30 children between the ages of two and five and accepts children on a referral basis only from children's services agencies.

Longlac Minor Hockey/Longlac Old Timers
$8,800 over one month to purchase goalie equipment for seven levels of players in the community.

Magnus Theatre Company Northwest Incorporated, Thunder Bay
$56,000 over two years to research, develop, market and initiate an enhanced "Theatre-in-Education (TIE)" program for participants of all ages in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.

The Marathon Cross-Country Ski Club
$25,000 over six months to install lighting and signage to improve cross-country skiing opportunities for the residents of Marathon.

Marjorie House, Marathon
$21,600 over six months to provide barrier-free access so that the shelter can provide effective services for women with disabilities or limited mobility.

Multicultural Association of Northwestern Ontario
$51,200 over two years for operating support to establish a Youth Centre for youth (ages 13 to 20).

Nakina Senior's Sunrise Club
$45,000 over one year to renovate and make accessible the Club's newly-acquired building.

Nipigon Red Rock and District Association for Community Living
$24,000 over three months to renovate the camp on Wild Goose Lake by enhancing access and upgrading existing structures for the use of persons with disabilities, their families and others in the region.

Nishnawbe Aski Nation
$29,600 over three months to support the 2000 NAN Elders' Conference on Traditional Governance to be held in Thunder Bay in November 2000.

Northland Supportive Housing Program
$38,000 over one year for building repairs and kitchen equipment to ensure that the facility remains fully operational, providing safe and sober housing to people in need.

Northwestern Ontario Junior Achievement Council
$25,000 over one year for operational support to allow the NWO Junior Achievement Council to providing business education programs to youth.

Ontario March of Dimes - Thunder Bay
$24,700 over three years to establish a Rental Recycled Equipment Program to run as a component of the Assistive Devices Program for individuals with disabilities.

Peng You Taiji Quan Association, Thunder Bay
$10,000 over three months to support a three-day Tai Chi Festival, which will include demonstration workshops and a Chinese cultural program for participants of all ages and abilities.

People Advocating For Change Through Empowerment, Inc.
$31,500 over eighteen months to update and share information relating to the current status of mental health supports and services in Thunder Bay.

Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay
$20,000 over six months to replace traditional military band uniforms.

P.U.S.H Northwest
$94,000 over two years to provide case management services for people with disabilities in order to help individuals gain access to community supports and services.

Rainy Lake Conservancy
21,000 over 14 months to expand the biological inventory of Rainy Lake, to provide a baseline of shoreline biological information and to communicate the results to the community.

Rainy River Curling Club
$15,000 over one year to replace roofing over the rink area.

Rainy River District Music Festival Association
$3,200 over three months to support the 2001 Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts.

Red Lake District Cross County Ski Club
$16,700 over one year to purchase cross-country ski trail grooming equipment.

Seven Generation Education Institute
$10,700 over three months to plan and host a Traditional Teachings Workshop with elders and youth.

$21,900 over three months to host an Arts Festival for Aboriginal Youth in Fort Frances.

Sioux Lookout Anti-Racism Committee
$117,400 over three years for a School Program Coordinator to provide opportunities for people of all ages and cultures in the community to learn new ways of resolving conflict and creating an environment of peace.

$25,000 over three months to upgrade four community bocce courts.

Thunder Bay Boys & Girls Club
$138,000 over three years for operational support, facility repairs and to purchase a new van. The Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club provides an extensive range of social, recreational and educational opportunities for children and youth in the community.

Thunder Bay Children's Festival
$150,000 over three years for operating support to provide a festive cultural experience for children and youth in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.

Thunder Bay Council on Positive Aging
$90,000 over two years for operating support to continue to encourage the active involvement of seniors in many aspects of community throughout the District of Thunder Bay and to maintain a significant networking role in the region.

The Thunder Bay Fringe Festival
$20,000 over nine months for operating support for the 2000 Thunder Bay Fringe Festival.

Thunder Bay Indian Friendship Centre
$69,000 over one year toward renovating a community facility that provides a variety of social, recreational and educational programs for aboriginal people living in Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay Multicultural Association
$97,700 over three years to increase community access to multicultural resources, to develop interactive educational software and to put resource material online in many languages for the benefit of newcomers and community residents.

Thunder Bay Thunderbolts Swim Club
$19,200 over one year for operational support. This includes computer equipment and timing and training equipment.

Thunder Bay Youth Employment Services
$1,900 to fund training on adaptive software and hardware to provide barrier-free access to employment opportunities for clients with hearing and/or visual impairments.

Trout Forest Music Festival
$19,500 over nine months for operational support of the 2000 Trout Forest Music Festival.
