Alcohol and Drug Referral Centre of Kingston $19,300 over three years to provide substance abuse counseling, training for health & social service professionals & community development initiatives addressing substance abuse in rural Northern Frontenac County.
Algonquin Arts Council $25,000 over six months towards renovations and equipment for the Bancroft Village Playhouse to improve accessibility, safety and operating efficiency.
Almonte and District Arts Council $13,000 over one year to host the Bach Comes to Almonte festival in May 2000, which will bring Canadian musicians together for a series of millennium concerts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Bach's death.
Almonte Community Co-ordinators $21,300 over six months for renovations to improve accessibility to "The Hub" community centre in Almonte, by installing wheelchair accessible washrooms, door openers and making improvements to the entrance.
Almonte Community Development Corporation Inc. $14,100 over six months to conduct a community needs assessment in the newly amalgamated township of Mississippi Mills that will address issues of economic and social development, recreation, and quality of life.
Alzheimer Society of Lanark County, The $25,000 over one year to expand its Day Away and education programs and Family Support Groups which provide stimulating activities for people with Alzheimer and offer relief to family members and caregivers.
Ardoch Algonquin First Nation $45,000 over one year to document and share the unique history of the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation with the non-native community to promote mutual understanding and acceptance.
Bancroft Area Stewardship Projects/Bancroft and District Chamber of Commerce $20,000 over six months to fund a Stewardships Project Coordinator to work with community groups in the North Hastings area, under the direction of the local Stewardship Council, to enhance the wise stewardship of local natural resources and to encourage related economic opportunities.
The Bancroft and North Hastings Elk Restoration Project/Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation- York River Chapter $15,000 over one year to support the North Hastings Elk Restoration Project in public consultation, education and project coordination efforts exploring how the reintroduction of elk will enhance the natural resource base and promote ecotourism.
Batawa Ski Club $27,100 over one year to support the purchase of new ski equipment and air conditioning to encourage year-round community usage of the ski hill and chalet.
Bayshore Picnic/Rotary Club of Belleville $14,800 over one year towards hosting the 3rd Annual Bayshore Picnic, a family oriented event promoting environmental awareness in Belleville on June 3, 2000.
Belleville Youth Soccer Club $26,000 over one year to improve training and screening of volunteers, coaches and referees, decrease barriers to participation and enhance organizational capacity. This initiative will benefit at least 2205 youth in the Quinte & Prince Edward County areas
Big Sisters Association of Kingston and District $25,000 over one year to provide supportive programs to 90 girls and young women in the greater Kingston area, through hiring a Group Activities Coordinator.
Big Sisters of Belleville and District $27,000 over one year towards a Caseworker to offer after school and group recreational and educational programs for girls and young women in Prince Edward County, Tyendinaga and Hastings County.
Brigantine Inc. $69,100 over three years to expand a youth sailing program to reach at-risk youth, and to increase community outreach and the organization's infrastructure.
Brockville Concert Association $6,000 over two years to establish an annual five day music residency program in local elementary schools. The program will provide opportunities for over 500 local children to develop their musical skills, sensitivity and imagination.
Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement $62,500 over one year to establish People First and Community Involvement chapters in Gananoque, Brockville and North Grenville to foster greater inclusion and awareness of people labeled as developmentally disabled.
Buckshot Lake Cottagers' Association/Mississippi Valley Lake Stewardship Network $30,000 over 15 months to recruit and train volunteer Lake Stewards to gather data on water quality and environmental conditions throughout the Mississippi Valley Watershed. The information will to be used to educate residents and promote good land stewardship practices.
Carleton Place & District Youth Centre $25,000 over three years to assist the youth centre to provide social, recreation & leadership development programs to youth seven days a week and to market the centre's programs to local youth.
Community Development Council of Quinte $30,000 over one year toward the development of a Community Well-being Index, which will help Quinte residents track and improve their quality of life and establish priorities for community action.
The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston $30,000 over one year to support the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston's marketing and fund development work to build and sustain community endowment funds.
Continuing on in Education, Quinte, Inc. $25,000 over one year to fund an instructor to offer literacy, numeracy and life skills to adults with special needs in the Bay of Quinte area.
Delta Agricultural Society $54,300 over six months for the necessary renovations and repairs to make the 100 year old community hall on the Delta fairgrounds available year round for community meetings and events.
Fairfield Gutzeit Society Inc., The $38,000 over two years to fund a part-time Program Coordinator to develop and promote educational programs and experiential learning opportunities highlighting local and Loyalist history to adults and children in the local area.
Friends of the Frink Centre/Moira Valley First Thurlow Scout Group $25,000 over one year to expand community outdoor education and recreation programs during weekends, after school and school holidays at the H.R. Frink outdoor education centre for the benefit of local residents, families, organizations and businesses.
Fun With Books $80,000 over three years to support a preschool literacy program in which volunteers promote the benefits of reading, and distribute a free monthly book package, to preschoolers' parents in Leeds and Grenville.
Hastings County Museum of Agricultural Heritage $20,000 over one year towards the cost of a summer staff person, marketing and administration costs to provide educational programs and exhibits highlighting local agricultural history.
Kingston and District Association for Community Living $100,000 over two years to develop a cooperative business to serve the Kingston community and employing 22 people with disabilities as worker-members. The initiative will include the development a temporary labour service, a variety of small businesses and a retail arts and crafts store.
Kingston and District United Way $25,000 over one year to increase fundraising capacity in support of social service organizations serving Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Counties.
Kingston Heritage Tattoo Society $15,000 over three months to assist in the production of the Kingston Heritage Tattoo, to be staged at Fort Henry on July 31 and August 1/99 and including a concert in the park on July 30/99.
Kingston Regional Arts Council $65,000 over two years to promote Kingston as a cultural centre by documenting the local economic impact of the arts, establishing an events and festivals network, and developing and promoting arts and cultural programs and tour packages.
Kingston Symphony Association $13,900 over three months to purchase 60 performance chairs and 6 storage carts for use by the musicians of the Kingston Symphony and by other artists performing at the Grand Theatre.
The Kiwanis Club of Madoc $69,900 over six months to improve accessibility and renovate the Kiwanis Centre a well-used community resource in Madoc. Renovations will include installing accessible washrooms, renovating the kitchen and repairing the roof.
Kiwanis Club of Perth-on-Tay $15,000 over five years to provide a breakfast program to children at three public schools in Perth. The program will ensure that participating children start the day with a nutritious breakfast enhancing their ability to learn and to succeed in school.
Lanark Children's Haven $15,000 over three months to support an integrated residential summer camp for children in Lanark county. Funds will support three camp counselor positions, experiences working with special needs children, and a portion of food costs.
Lanark Community Food Box Project/Children's Resources on Wheels of Lanark Inc. $23,500 over one year to pilot a community food box program in Lanark County and investigate the need for additional food security programs in the area.
Land O'Lakes Community Services $70,800 over three years to establish a Volunteer Centre to recruit and match local volunteers with community organizations and initiatives in North Lennox and Addington County.
Le Centre social et culturel Frontenac $25,000 over eight months to support a staff position that will enhance the coordination and development of the centre's francophone programs and activities, and will support its financial sustainability plans.
Lonsdale Women's Institute $2,000 over six months to increase accessibility to the community hall by installing a wheelchair access ramp to the building.
Maberly Agricultural Society $19,000 over one year to repair and improve the exhibition halls on the Maberley Fair grounds. The initiative will improve this community resource for the year round use & enjoyment of area residents and patrons of the annual Maberly Fair.
McDonald's Corners/Elphin Recreation And Arts $25,000 over six months to cover renovation and repair costs and the installation of an accessible washroom and entrance in the McDonald's Corners Community Hall.
Merrickville Day Nursery $15,000 over two years to establish an after school social recreational program for children 6 to 10 years of age in the Merrickville area.
Mississippi Valley Textile Museum $29,000 over one year to support the museum's programs and exhibits and to assist with repairs to the historic mill that houses the museum.
Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte $75,000 over one year to support the restoration of the Royal Chapel to the Mohawks at Tyendinaga as an important heritage and cultural site, symbolizing the important contribution of the Mohawk people to the formation and preservation of Canada.
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada - Hastings County Chapter $2,960 over three months to enhance the organization's capacity to communicate effectively with their membership and partner health and social service agencies, through the purchase of two fax machines and a copier.
Museum of Health Care for Eastern Ontario $75,000 over one year to renovate and make accessible the historic Ann Baillie Building to house the Museum of Health Care for Eastern Ontario. The museum will present programs and exhibits regarding health and health care to the public.
North Frontenac Community Services Corporation $81,200 over three years to improve access to responsive community services and to support resident participation in addressing local problems.
North Grenville Association for Community Living $70,000 over five years to support the establishment of an accessible and affordable community transportation system for people with disabilities in North Grenville.
North Grenville Community Hospice $47,700 over three years towards the recruitment and training of volunteers to provide in-home hospice services to North Grenville residents suffering from a life threatening illness and to provide assistance and bereavement support to clients' families.
North Hastings Volunteer Community Services/Seniors Home Support $47,900 over three months to purchase an accessible van to provide transportation to over 400 seniors and people with disabilities in the North Hastings area.
Opportunities Kingston $75,000 over two years to implement a peer support and lending program geared to low-income people living in the Greater Kingston area.
Parent Awareness About Drugs $25,800 over one year to hire a Facilitation Team Leader to offer workshops and group programs to children, youth and parents in Eastern Ontario on substance abuse awareness and prevention.
Prescott Oddfellows and Rebekahs Humanitarian Services $7,000 over five months to purchase and install an industrial dishwasher for use at community events.
Quinte Community Learning - Bridging The Gap $25,000 over one year to establish a shared community agriculture project in the Quinte area, providing healthy affordable food to consumers and supporting local growers and producers.
Quinte Vocational Support Services $75,000 over one year to inform adults with developmental disabilities and their family members about how to access programs and services, and to encourage mutual support among participating families.
The Regent Theatre Foundation $75,000 over one year towards repairs and improvements to the Regent Theatre, a unique 377 seat music hall era theatre in Picton.
Rideau Environmental Action League $25,000 over one year to create a tool to reduce CO2 emissions for rural and small town use, to develop a community environmental education park in downtown Smiths Falls and to enhance organizational capacity.
Rideau Waterway Land Trust Foundation Inc. $22,400 over one year to contact and encourage landownders along the Rideau waterway to conserve their land through either donation to the Trust or through placing a registered agreement on the property to protect it from future development.
RKY Camp $75,000 over one year toward the expansion of outdoor education programs for children, youth and adults in the Greater Kingston area by renovating and improving the camp's dining hall.
Roebuck Educational and Recreational Association $33,600 over six months to renovate, repair and refurbish the interior of the 25 year old Roebuck community hall and to add a wheelchair accessible washroom.
Rose Garden Family Support Centre, The $25,000 over one year to enhance supervised child access in Brockville and Smiths Falls for parents who require a supervised setting to visit with their children. This grant will cover the costs of an office support worker.
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 95 $18,900 over one year toward the replacement of the community hall's heating system.
Royal Canadian Legion - Brockville Branch (96) $45,000 over three years to support a minor league baseball program which benefits more than 400 children and youth in the Brockville area every year.
St. John Ambulance, Kingston Branch $6,000 over three months towards computer equipment to support the organization to improve its effectiveness in delivering first aid and CPR training to the public and providing first aid response at community events.
Stirling Festival Theatre $36,400 over one year for renovations to the Stirling Festival Theatre to provide expanded and wheelchair accessible washrooms, improvements which will improve the theatre's accessibility and comfort and enhance this local community resource.
Tatlock Community Sports Organization $13,000 over one year to support community recreation activities at the new park by funding a Sports and Facilities Coordinator during the summer months, as well as equipment and maintenance costs.
1000 Islands Community Development Corporation $25,000 over one year towards a staff position to aid local festivals and events in their development, coordination and promotion.
Thousand Islands Foundation for the Performing Arts $75,000 over one year toward renovations to the Thousand Islands Playhouse that will expand its audience capacity to 380 seats, and improve its lighting, and performance and rehearsal space.
Tweed and Area Historical Society $25,000 over one year to renovate the Tweed Heritage Centre and Information Bureau to include a gallery for local artisans, community meeting rooms and an accessible washroom.
Union Hall Community Centre (Lanark County) Inc. $9,100 over one year toward the renovation and repair of the 150-year-old Union Hall Community Centre, which is the hub of social and recreational activities for the surrounding area.
United Way of Quinte $20,000 over six months for fundraising and management information software to increase the capacity of the organization to raise funds in support of social service organizations serving the Quinte area.
Upper Canada Swim Club $7,500 over one year to offer the "I Can Swim" program, a series of swim instruction classes, at an affordable rate to over 60 children a year in the Brockville area.
Valley Players of Almonte, The $7,000 over one year to purchase stage lighting and shades to enhance the performances of the Valley Players of Almonte and other area arts organizations.
The Volunteer Bureau of Lanark County $25,000 over two years to enhance and sustain volunteer resources serving Lanark County and to promote meaningful volunteer opportunities to community members.
Warings Creek Improvement Association $27,000 over 15 months to support stream rehabilitation work to help restore Warings Creek as a healthy cold water ecosystem.
Youth Access Project/North Lanark County Community Health Care Centre $59,000 over two years towards the costs of a part-time Program Coordinator and program costs to provide social, recreational and leadership development programs and opportunities for youth in the rural communities of North Lanark.
Youth Diversion Program $100,000 over five years to expand the Rebound Program's youth crime prevention strategy to youth and families in 12 communities in Frontenac, Lennox and Addington counties.
